- LAFBeautiful coin. Beautiful display. This is a very pretty coin & the presentation box it comes with makes it extra special. It is the perfect gift to give someone who is in the Marines or who is a Marine Veteran to thank them for their service & recognize them for their bravery.
I ordered this to give to a friend who is a Marine Veteran. She currently works for the government & has gone through the recent upheaval of colleagues losing jobs & the uncertainty about what is going to happen. It is the perfect gift, especially in light of the 250th anniversary of the Marine Corps on October 26th of this year.
The company that makes these offers them for the Army 250th that occurred last month & the Navy 250th anniversary that will occur on October 13th. It would be so nice if they were also offered for the Air Force. The Air Force celebrated it's 75th anniversary on September 18, 2022, but in my opinion a commemorative coin that celebrates its 75th anniversary would still be appropriate & much appreciated by those who are in or veterans of the Air Force.
Honestly, though, I believe the price is a bit high for this coin. It is beautiful & it is well displayed, but I'm thinking of the giver here. If you had several family members, friends & acquaintances to whom you'd like to gift one of these coins, it could become prohibitively expensive very quickly. I would love to see the manufacturer offer these in a three pack, a five pack & the opportunity to mix & match coins, at a reduced price point so that they are more affordable. I'm certain that these are not too costly to manufacture & it would be a nice gesture for the manufacturer to make them more affordable. Another option would be to offer them & donate a portion to the service represented on the coin, along with a certificate indicating that.
I'd be more inclined to purchase one or more of these if a portion supported veterans of service, if they were offered in multi-packs or if the price was more affordable. I would also recommend that the manufacturer consider using a different decoration on each side, rather than the same thing on both sides. - Keith tourneyGreat coinBeautiful coin
