One of my favorite things about it is that it doesn’t connect to Wi-Fi, so I don’t have to worry about anyone hacking into the system. It also means I’m not dependent on my phone to keep track of my baby while she sleeps, which I really appreciate.
When the time comes for her to sleep in her own room, the included screen will be so handy. I’ll be able to see her if she cries, or just turn the screen off and keep the audio on to listen in. That’s something you just can’t do easily with app-based monitors that rely on your phone.
Sure, we can’t view her when we’re away from home, but that’s not a feature we need. The range between the camera and monitor is great. I can even be outside gardening and still keep a clear connection. I’ve tried quite a few baby monitors, but the Hello Baby has quickly become my absolute favorite! I had the first-generation model, which was good, but this non-WiFi version is perfect for me. I love that it’s simple and secure. The screen is crystal clear so I can see my little one easily and the sleek, compact design makes it so easy to carry around the house. It’s reliable, easy to use, and I would definitely buy another one for myself or even as a thoughtful gift for another parent. Truly a game-changer! - SandpiperIt works and over a month in - I still love it!Good quality and very durable (it’s been through a lot at this point), and I can’t live without it. Easy to use if you just want the basics. Camera varies between black and white and color depending on the room lighting. That didn’t bother me. It was more important that it sees well in the dark and you can move the camera remotely, which it really does. I liked the security that is not WiFi and honestly an easier set up when traveling. The functionality was good, no trouble with signal 2 rooms down. The sounds coming from the camera room are sharp and one way. You can also easily mute it.
Important mentions
- the monitor unit (the one you will take out of the room with you) can be cordless, but the camera watching the bed must be plugged in all the time. For us it was fine once I found you can plug it in and the rotate and zoom in so it doesn’t really matter where it’s plugged in.
- the audio where you speak in a different room and it comes out at the camera feature was not helpful and could cause confusion.
- I wish it could pair with earphones so I could listen to the camera room audio with an earbud and not disturb others nearby. (Yes, this was a grumpy issue at first lol although normalized quickly)
- I’ll be getting another one as a present if any of my family or friends needs one. There is a zoom that works well and we bought the attachment that mounts to the camera, so we can clip it to the pack n play. We use this one for traveling. It doesn’t require wifi and we can even plug it in the car! Love it and would definitely buy it again, especially for the price!
