I have a couple of guinea pigs and a hamster for which I was looking for something natural and safe to chew on. These apple wood and timothy grass sticks are perfect for maintaining their teeth and satisfying their natural chewing instincts. My guinea pigs especially love nibbling on the apple wood, and I’ve noticed that they seem to enjoy it more than some of the other treats I’ve given them in the past. It’s also reassuring to know that these toys are made from natural materials, which makes me feel good about giving them to my pets.
However, there are a couple of things I've noticed: first, the sticks are a bit smaller than I expected, and so they don't last as long as I hoped with my more enthusiastic chewers. Second, the toys are great for chewing, but not really that exciting for my hamster, who tends to like more interactive toys. She nibbles on them from time to time, but nothing compared to how much the guinea pigs enjoy them.
