The size is awesome, and it's a great gift idea for your world travels. We gifted this to our brother and sister-in-law and they had a professional attach it to decorative wood and framed it, added cork board for the pins and double-framed it. This provides an easy way for them to keep the map nice, but also facilitate any future moves from their current residence to another.
- AshleyBeautiful GiftI bought the medium map for a birthday present. After building the frame, staining, painting, and gluing the pieces down, it really came together. There were some minimal line smudges on the states and she noticed there were missing holes as she was putting her pins in (unsure if some missing holes are because of the map size?). Puzzle process:
My goal was to create a moveable piece so I designed a frame that came in just under 4' x 2'. I found it easier to lay all the pieces on my counter before I glued it to the frame. Be aware that some island pieces are not labeled. Instead of the adhesive provided, I used Gorilla Glue's Max Strength Clear Construction Adhesive. It took approximately 2 hours to glue all of the pieces to the frame. I also used Google maps instead of the picture provided.
