  • What a ride!
I have thoroughly enjoyed this entire series! I’m rereading it before he next book drops. Absolutely loved the characters, humor, and story.
  • psychologically gripping
I haven’t written an actual summation of a story in a long time. This book was so gripping I simply had to. Have read all in the series this is tied for is simply the best one so far. So absolutely gripping. At times I was unsure if I wanted to keep reading. The reality of what happens to the mind in time of war. The reality of what occurs. To be drawn down that hole into the darkness. It is a dark place. Just when things seem to be going black the book picks up and lightens and takes the weight off and is exciting and daunting. Right up into the last pages the plot twists more times than a jigsaw puzzle. Truly an amazing series. I am not sure I have read something of its equal I can compare it to. A truly epic journey of war and battle that is some of the most realistic fantasy I could imagine. A truly epic journey into the soul and the choices that are made in the worst moments.
  • Amazing Series!
I just binged every book in this series so far. That’s how god dammed good it is. Matt has a gift for writing hilarious, compelling stories and I haven’t read a book series that was so easy for me to get lost in for such a long time. I can’t wait for the next one!

I don’t know if you see these reviews, but I also saw about Freddie at the end of the book. I’m sorry to hear that. Lost my yellow lab back in ‘24, same age as Freddie, she helped me through some dark times as well. Labs are so good and goofy like that. Hope all is well, cant wait for the next installment of Carl Breaks the Universe.
  • The Great Convergence (Book 7)
Book seven brings together so many threads in a way that feels both thrilling and satisfying. The scale of the crawl is larger than ever, with challenges that push Carl and Donut to their limits. The mix of action, humor, and heart is at its best here, and the story delivers some of the most rewarding payoffs of the series so far. It is a powerful continuation that shows this crawl is only getting stronger.
  • Another great entry in the series.
The saga of Carl and Donut just keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to see what happens next in the series.
  • Rollicking fun! Side-splitting!
The voice-acting, top-notch! This book is a rollercoaster ride, so fast-paced with twists and turns to make your head spin! One thing is sure, you’ll be laughing your head off non-stop all the way to the bank! What a fun read! Donut and Dungeon Crawler Carl for President!
  • ABSOLUTELY EPIC!!!!!
This book was fantastic start to finish!! What an epic tale. All the action, humor, adventure, and feels. I loved it completely. The BEST characters and plot. The epilogue on the audiobook is extra HILARIOUS!!
  • This series is amazing.
When I picked up the very first novel of this series, I thought it was going to be kind of dumb. I was so very wrong. It's amazing. Me and 6 other people started reading it in September and now I'm finished with all 7 current books in less than a month. It's a Sci-fi action fantasy story that Keeps you reading. Now I have to wait for the next one.
