- GabrielaVisa card to use anywhereThis option is great, since you can use the card anywhere. I received it online without any problems, and the steps to use it were super easy.
- SwoolingDO NOT BUY!!!I got this Visa card in Dec 2024 and activated it. However, I didn’t use it as it had an expiry date nine years away.
Fast forward to April 2025 when I tried to use it for the first time on Amazon and it was declined.
Called Amazon to find out what the problem was and they stated that I had to call visa as it had been awhile since activation and they couldn’t help. Ok fine.
I called visa and they couldn’t help so they told me to contact giftcards.com. Ok fine.
When speaking to a representative from giftcards.com, they stated that the card wasn’t activated and the money was still on the card and on Amazon’s end. Now I’m upset as Amazon support told me that they couldn’t do anything.
Called back Amazon and spoke to another rep. He then sent the issue to the escalation department and told me to wait 24hours for a response. After 24 hours, still no email.
Now by this time, I’m pissed off. It’s been over 3 weeks. I called Amazon and asked to speak to a supervisor.
The supervisor assured me that she’s seeing the money still on the card on her end and she will again send the issue to the escalation department. She asked me to wait 48 hours.
It’s been over 48 hours and I am upset as I have not heard back anything. It’s been over a month now and I CANNOT USE THE CARD OR GET THE ISSUE RESOLVED!!
I will call back and find out what is going on. BUT IT’S NOT WORTH THIS!!! - Alexander J AVery GoodExcellent
- SophiaWithin the hourWas available within an hour and could be used online anywhere, great as a gift or for yourself.
- DeshelledYou’re better off just throwing the money out of your car windowLike many other customers, I received a gift card that turned out to be unusable. Although Amazon’s email provides a link showing the gift card number, the card is declined everywhere—no matter the purchase amount or retailer.
The card issuer’s website, also linked in the email, allows you to attempt to register the card. Unfortunately, entering the card information only triggers the same generic error message every time: “We are unable to process your request at this time.” I verified the details repeatedly, and the system still refused to process it.
Calling the card issuer is equally frustrating. Actually reaching a human is extremely difficult, and if you do, they simply tell you the card was never activated at the point of sale—meaning Amazon never activated it correctly.
Amazon’s customer support isn’t much more helpful. Agents will repeatedly tell you to call Visa, even after you explain that Visa has already confirmed the card was never activated. One representative even tried to claim the funds had already been used, despite this clearly contradicting Visa’s information. When I asked for clarification, she admitted she couldn’t provide any. In the end, they offer no real solutions and send you in circles.
At this point, I’m out $200. If you absolutely need to buy this type of gift card, I strongly recommend purchasing it directly from the issuer. Until Amazon fixes this broken process, buying this product through Amazon is essentially a gamble with your money. - ColeWorth it!Worked absolutely amazing. Quick and easy to spend
- Jaqueline CamposComfIt was easy to make a gift with this card, without having to go or battle, fascinating.
- cc_mineDon't risk itAlong with several other customers, I received a gift card that was never activated. After following the link provided in the email from Amazon, the gift card number is displayed, but it gets declined no matter where you try to use it or what amount you try to purchase. Visiting the website of the card issuer listed in the email brings you to a page where you can attempt to register the card. However, entering the card details only results in an error message: “We are unable to process your request at this time,” even after verifying the information multiple times.
Calling the card issuer’s customer service is frustrating. It’s nearly impossible to reach a human being, and if you do, they simply tell you that the card was never activated at the point of sale (in other words, Amazon dropped the ball).
Contacting Amazon customer service is no better. Most agents mistakenly think you’re talking about an Amazon.com gift card instead of a Visa one. Multiple representatives assured me the issue would be resolved within a few days, but nothing was ever fixed.
As it stands, I am out $200. If you must purchase this product, I strongly recommend buying directly from the issuer rather than through Amazon. Until Amazon fixes this broken system, you are gambling with your money by purchasing this product.
FOLLOW UP EDIT: I was able to get a refund from Amazon by contacting the BBB and having them open a case. A specialist from Amazon responded and refunded me. If you are facing the same problems, I recommend trying this route.
