- Jade Kvisual storytelling winGreat read with equally strong narration. I didn’t know it was paranormal going in, which threw me off at first. That’s usually not my lane because my brain wants to break everything down and rule out anything supernatural. Moving forward, I prefer to know upfront when a book leans paranormal so I can settle into the story instead of trying to out-logic it.
The storytelling style really worked for me. It uses first-person, present-tense narration, where everything unfolds in the moment. I realized how much I enjoy that kind of pacing and immediacy. It pulls you into the scene in a way that feels active and immersive.
The storyline held me throughout, and pairing Audible with the reading version is a must so you can see the illustrations. One thing I didn’t expect to enjoy as much as I did was the author interview at the end. Hearing the artists talk about switching their drawing styles to mimic a toddler’s hand versus a “ghost’s” was surprisingly fascinating and added a whole extra layer to the experience.
I also appreciated how the author incorporated inclusion, especially in the way neurodivergent characters were written. It felt intentional and warm.
Overall, a really pleasing and memorable read. And the 4.5 leaves room on my scale for whatever story blows me away next. - Amazon CustomerWell written fast paced thrilled4.5! this was a reread for me before the new netflix show comes out. just as good as I remember when I read the first time. easy read and great twist
- CarrieExactly what I needed!!This book was exactly what I needed!! Fast-paced, suspenseful, and full of tension from beginning to end. His & Hers is a twisty psychological thriller that follows two perspectives. Newsreader Anna Andrews and detective Jack Harper; both tied to a chilling murder in a quiet British village. As secrets unravel and suspicions rise, one thing becomes clear: someone is lying, and nothing is what it seems.
The character development was strong, the pacing was relentless, and the twists kept me guessing the entire time. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the story would shift and pull the rug right out from under me. I truly couldn’t put it down.
By the end, I was left thinking, “What the world did I just read?” in the best way possible. This is a must-read for thriller fans who love heart-pounding suspense and clever, layered storytelling.
Final Verdict: His & Hers is gripping, sharp, and completely addictive. A five-star thriller that delivers from the first page to the last. - BBRuined at the EndThis could have been a four star review but the ending was so cliche. I HATE when authors have a character explain everything at the end. This went on for almost eight pages! If a mystery writer is reading this review, please don’t do that!! The storyline was good and kept me engaged. I was tempted to start skipping pages about 3/4 of the way in but I stayed the course in case I missed something. The last 50 pages were unnecessary and left you feeling like you’ve read this story before. The plot became unbelievable which diminished the entire story. Overall, it was a good read but don’t go into it expecting the thriller/mystery of the 21st century or you’ll be disappointed.
- Pamela MasonGripping, solid story!Alice Feeney has a way with twists and turns in her novels. She keeps you changing your mind about who the good guys are and who the bad guys are while keeping the story line so intact that any of your guesses are believable. “His & Hers” is no different; it gets you guessing from the beginning, making you feel like you’re going to be right, only to have it switch up on you and you fall for it, every time! A serial killer has ties to a group of girls who were friends in high school, until something awful happens, and the true colors of the girls come out and more than one of them is traumatized by the event. Now it seems she’s back for her revenge, or someone else from the group wants payback, or someone else outside the group wants them all to suffer. Great read! Gripping, solid story, I liked it!!! ????
