【For Imitation】When Testing Imitation stone, such as cubic zirconium ( CZ ), crystal, glass, there will be no sound, and the red lamp won’t light.
【For Diamond】For testing diamond, it will emits beeping-beeping-beeping in a low frequency, 1 time/second. Meanwhile 1-4 pieces of the RED LAMP box of the level meter light on(the bigger the size of the stone is, the more pieces of the red lamp box of the level meter light up)
【For Metal Alert】When Testing metal, it will emits beeping-beeping-beeping in a high frequency,5times/second. As for the hand which hold diamond tester, you have to touch the electricity conductive panel on the back of the unit.If you test the diamond just by one hand, you will get a wrong result.

I ordered this tester as I had ordered some cheaper moissanite earrings and wanted to make sure they were moissanite. I have moissanite from a reputable online retailer so I was able to test this diamond tester and all my moissanite I already owned passed. All my diamonds passed. I tried on my cz, and it didn't test as diamond at all. While I did not have high expectations for this tester as it was relatively inexpensive, I was pleasantly surprised that it works pretty well. This little device enabled me to order earrings that were less than the online retailer would have charged. Be sure to read the instructions or watch online videos on how to use this. The magnifier is also pretty cool. I discovered that one of my diamonds in a pendant had a chip (bummer), so it is a neat way to check out what you own or look at anything you are considering purchasing. Helped me to narrow down which earrings to purchase.

It took me a little bit to get the hang of using it correctly, but when I finally got it on the right setting, it worked great.

The loupe is weird and unintuitive but the diamond tester works great for my casual purposes. I tested 2 things that I was reasonably sure were diamonds (my wedding rings, unless the jeweler lied about them), 1 moissanite piece, and 2 cubic zirconia pieces. I don't know if the guide for sounds is accurate (it says at >=9, 1 beep/second is diamond and 5 beeps/second is not) since my diamonds and moissanite all beeped 3 times and my CZ didn't beep and was at a lower level.

Overall, it does what I need it to but the instructions could use some work.

After a family member passed we inherited a ton of jewelry. We were unsure what was junk and what was valuable. We were going to take it to going to get it all appraised, but This machine was on target. It was able to identify multiple jewels, including diamonds. Also, the magnifier helped identify the gold and silver stamps that were invisible to the human eye.

Overall, it's a great portable tool to help you quickly identify a variety of gemstones and jewels without breaking the bank. Solid quality and very portable. Comes in a nice little case and worksheet to help you distinguish. Would be awesome to take to an estate sale to find hidden treasures.

3.0 out of 5 stars Average Diamond Tester with Some Limitations
Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2023
I recently purchased the HMKIS Diamond Tester Pen with the accompanying 60X Mini LED Magnifying glass, hoping to accurately assess the authenticity of diamonds and gemstones. While this set offers some functionality, it has a few limitations that prevent it from receiving a higher rating.

On the positive side, the diamond tester pen is compact and easy to use. It provides a quick indication of whether a stone is likely to be a real diamond or a simulant based on thermal conductivity. The results are displayed through a series of LED lights, making it relatively simple to interpret the readings. This feature can be helpful for novice users who are just starting to explore the world of gemstone testing.

The inclusion of the 60X Mini LED Magnifying glass is a nice addition, as it allows for a closer examination of the stones. It provides decent magnification, which can assist in identifying any flaws or inclusions in the gemstones.

However, there are some limitations to consider. Firstly, the accuracy of the diamond tester pen is questionable. While it can provide a basic indication, it is not as precise as more professional-grade diamond testers on the market. It may struggle with certain types of stones or yield inconsistent results, which can be frustrating for expert users who require more accurate assessments.

Additionally, the build quality of both the diamond tester pen and the magnifying glass leaves something to be desired. They feel somewhat flimsy and not as durable as I would have liked. This can be concerning, especially if you intend to use them frequently or rely on them for professional purposes.

Lastly, the instructions provided with the set are somewhat lacking. They are not as detailed or comprehensive as I would have preferred, particularly for users who are new to gemstone testing. It would be beneficial to have clearer guidelines and additional information on interpreting the results.

In conclusion, the HMKIS Diamond Tester Pen with the 60X Mini LED Magnifying glass is an average set for assessing the authenticity of diamonds and gemstones. While it offers some functionality and can be useful for beginners, its accuracy and build quality are questionable. If you require more precise and reliable results, it may be worth considering higher-end diamond testers on the market.

For novice users or those who need a basic indication of a stone's authenticity, this set can serve its purpose adequately. However, if you require more professional-grade equipment or expect greater accuracy and durability, it may be worth exploring other options in the market.
This product is very cheaply made out of extremely thin fabric and the thread is already coming apart around the sleeve holes and around the neck area and it is almost impossible to get the wrinkles out of the shirt
