Nice Tunisian crochet hooks

Decent quality Tunisian crochet hooks. I already have a few name brand Tunisian crochet hooks, but saw this bundle at a very affordable price so picked it up. Quality is as expected for the value. The hooks only have the mm size on the top end of each hook. I’m just going to use my label maker to print out the U.S. alpha hook size to place on the opposite side of the top end of each hook. I haven’t used them yet, but each hook feels smooth, without unevenness or catches. Overall very pleased with the purchase.

I removed a star because the yarn is snagging on the hook tips that are wood. The yarn also doesn’t slide like metal hooks, even with different yarns. I had to really take some time to sand down the wood hooks and handles. Pay attention to the edge especially in the “valley” of the hooks. After I sanded them down and polished them with a super fine emory board (for shine) I got them to a good place where they worked nicely, were slick with the yarn and I could enjoy them. ARE THEY WORTH THE MONEY? Yes, if you don’t mind taking some time to finish them. If you don’t want to sand them, then no. It wasn’t difficult, just time consuming.

My hooks just arrived. They were a day late. One of the reviews stated that she had to use a Sharpie to write the sizes because it wore off fast so I applied some clear nail polish to the numbers Be careful! Only two strokes or it wipes the printed size off. (See photo) I felt the wooden tips for any spurs that would snag as well and mine all felt smooth. The wooden hooks are longer than I expected, to my delight! The plastic end seems supple, so I don’t think it will be difficult to work with. They uncoil easily.
There are plenty of sizes from 2.0 to 9.0 for a variety of projects. I’m excited to try them! I gave them a 5.0 for the time being.

These hooks were a good buy. However, they are not as long as an afghan hook, they call it a Tunisian hook. I used one to make a blanket, and since it was only 65 stitches across they worked well. If it would have been like the last throw I made at 178 stitches wide they would have never worked.

Nice to have them all together. I did have to make a chart for my use since they are in metric, not the usual letters we use in the States. Very sturdy.

I like the metal ones, but maybe will try circular ones in the future, I got these to learn on because Tunisian crochet is like a mix between crochet and knit and I wanted to see if I liked the style of crochet before I went to the circular ones. I think they are good hooks for a reasonable price. They are easy to use but I am not sure I like doing the Tunisian style yet.

I like the price point, and the colors are nice. The square block at the rear end is really heavy and makes the hooks tip upward.
