- Mace VindalooNon-Self-Leveling mode is FantasticIncludes self leveling and non self leveling for a complete functional package at a fraction of the cost. Build quality is okay and actually perfect for an occasional user vs a pro daily user. To get this functionality from a Bosch you'll be paying 6X the cost. Accuracy is perfect for a 30x30 room. I have a pair of Greens and Reds for use with a trackcar wheel alignment project for which I need the Non-Self-Leveling function. This way I can compare the rear (green) and front (red) adjustments relative to one another without self-leveling throwing me off. But you do have to pre-level and lock all four equally before starting.
- MariaWish I Had This Years Ago!This RockSeed cross line laser level is a game-changer! The self-leveling feature is spot-on, and the vertical and horizontal lines are bright and precise. I love that it rotates, making it easy to measure and align anything. Honestly, I wish I would’ve gotten one years ago—now I’m over here fixing all my lopsided frames! Sturdy, easy to use, and perfect for DIY projects. Highly recommend!
- John RooneyGood laser, bad stand adjustmentThe laser itself seems to work great, and the brightness is plenty for indoor work. However, the adjustment on the stand for from floor to ceiling seems to be impossible to level out, so you have to play around with the height of the legs which is kind of annoying.
- T.HPut this in your toolbox. Lots of uses. This tool is a huge timesaver and worth every penny. I attached it to a telescoping camera tripod (tool comes with mounting holes) and used it to install over 20 shelves of various sizes on 6 walls in my basement entertainment area. It was so fast lining up a shelf while on a ladder. I wasn’t constantly reaching for a level to check for level and plumb. This tool’s finest moment was while putting multiple small shelves that were “stacked” on top of each other up both walls of an inside corner. Lining up all the shelf brackets vertically up both walls so they were perfectly level was actually enjoyable because it was so easy while standing on a ladder. All the shelves came out perfect and looked seamless from wall to wall. Using this Lazer level was so much faster than putting a level on the wall and putting tick marks where each screw and shelf bracket would go. Easily saved me hours of time. Very easy to accomplish with this tool with the illuminated level and plumb lines. I used it to install the shelves, sconces, dartboard, big screen tv, electric wall mounted fireplace and wall cabinets. I can assure you everything in this room is level and plumb, lol. I use it as much as a conventional level now. I mounted it to a 5 foot telescopic camera tripod. This helped a ton because it kept the lazer level in one spot and all I needed to do was swivel it to the wall I was working on at that time.
- Michael MTotally worth it!Worked PERFECTLY to install a badge on my car. Worth every penny!
- Facility GuyInexpensive but not cheap! Well the tripod is cheap junk.It is inexpensive and decent, but the little tripod is a piece of junk. I will probably return it because I wanted a rechargeable one and this one runs on AA batteries.
- Jonathan LiraAccurate and Easy to UseThis laser level works great and is very accurate. It’s easy to set up, self-levels quickly, and the lines are clear and easy to see indoors. It made my projects much easier and more precise.
Solid quality and very practical tool. Highly recommended. - BrendanGreat tool! (with some limitations...)My wife and I live in a house that is +100 year old with a detached garage. We recently renovated the main house and found some of the original walls in the house are not nearly plumb, but at least everything is level after a new foundation. The garage needs work and is about 4" out of plumb on one side and about 5" (in the opposite direction) on the opposite wall. This laser is auto-leveling and helps us resolve why things look off, usually because they actually are... so we may actually stand a chance to compete some (minor) garage work in a workmanlike fashion. For the tool itself:
Pros:
- Easy setup: turn it on and set it down.
- Easy storage: comes with a soft case.
- Easier to read: with a bubble level, everyone seams to have their own definition of "level" and every level has its own tolerances (big bubble and/or big center guide marks). This takes the guess work out by providing a concise laser line that would be interpreted the same by everyone.
- Fast: the laser level finds level AND plumb at the same time. There are also fewer marks on the wall, therefore less clean-up, since I can leave the laser up while marking other measurements.
Considerations (not really "cons," but findings):
- Not visible in direct sunlight (though green laser shows faint in shade/indirect sunlight).
- Takes a few uses to get used to the laser aspect, especially when using in tight spaces (ie. hallway or closet) since it easy to block the laser when trying mark locations on the wall. I ended up with some interesting crouches and wrist angles at first.
Tips:
1. Buy an adjustable tri-pod! The laser level has a screw base that works with most tri-pods. If I only need a rough height level, using the steps on a ladder is fast and easy.
2. If using outdoors (and not in a time crunch), set it up in the evening or at night for a greater chance to see and mark the laser heights outdoors. With everything marked, come back the next day to make noise (cut/drill/nail) based on the marks from the evening before.
Good luck!
