- DAFSBirds and raccoons love itI love these cakes for my birds but the raccoons love them too!! So Im guessing it tastes great! I had to bring the food inside every night because they managed to crawl up the banister, leaned over, grabbed the post it hung from, swung over to it reached their little hands through the grates and ate it. ugh. soooo I finally moved it to a spot they cannot reach anymore.
It took it away from my front window for my viewing pleasure but I am not feeding raccoons!! I watched them perform their acrobatic skills on my Ring monitor at about 4am. which was impressive but aggravating as well.
The birds love it too and come around looking for it after I moved it! It attracted several different types of wood peckers, finches, chickadees, wrens and of course, sparrows. I didn't see a cardinal partake, but most other birds did. When it's cold outside, they will come.
It doesn't really have a smell that I am aware of. The size is perfect for the feeder we have and looks great inside the box. - InATLBirds love it!This is the only suet and flavor I use in my yard. The birds love it but the squirrels hate it! I buy it in bulk.
- LaneyKeeps squirrels away! The birds love this and it is not palatable to squirrels.
- J JacksonFlorida bird approvedWe are in South Florida and this attracts so many birds. We have mockingbirds, painted buntings, white winged doves, black birds, blue jays…so many. I have a smart feeder with my suet feeder in front so I can monitor and they absolutely love the hot pepper delight. I also keep a bird bath for water and a squirrel table with critter feed so there’s a lot of variety. One day I noticed it was rather quiet out there and realized the suet feeder was empty. I do think it attracts a lot of the birds. It has been in the 80s with no issues of melt. Once we hit hot summer temps if I see any melting issues I will update but so far so good!
- ScottieDefinitely doesn’t melt but NOT a hit with the birds. It definitely doesn’t melt in 105 degree temperatures but the birds aren’t eating it. I’ll give it a few weeks to see if they’ll start eating it. The quality seems good.
- Russell B.Birds and raccoons love them????The pack was delivered on time and in perfect condition. I put one cake out and thought the birds really loved it as it disappeared in 3 days. Put another one in the feeder, that evening I saw what was eating the cakes so fast, a raccoon. I relocated the feeder the birds found it and love it.
The cakes are well wrapped and easy to install in the feeder. - K HQuestioningBirds not coming to feeder as usually do not sure if it’s this suet or what? Will not purchase again.
- Merlot VineThis is great for birds in the cold of winter! Gives them the energy to get through the cold nights.Birds seem pleased, squirrels seem pleased, none of them have given me the stink eye yet, so it must be pretty good. Suet like this is high in fat, which really helps birds handle the extra cold nights, so I especially like to put a cake of this out when I know it is going to be a nippy one outside. I'll give them these all year round, but it is EXTRA special if you can put one out when a cold snap might be coming, helping get through those freezing cold evenings. And if you can, THANK YOU! After all, they work so hard to make us happy.
