- SeahorseBest / not best bedding for Guinea pigs.The best paper bedding I know of and far superior for Guinea pigs than other products. It is dust free, controls odor, soft for their feet and easy to keep clean. Just pick up the poop and wet spots, add clean bedding and they are good to go. Fleece can be attractive but unless changed almost daily it "smells" and while less expensive than paper bedding, I don't have the time to do laundry almost daily. I should also note that Carefresh is a terrific company...I received several bags of inferior quality that I had ordered online made by a new supplier to them and they immediately appologized and sent me coupons for free replacements when I reported it to them. Not many companies will do that.
Move ahead to May 2018...I don't know what happened to Carefresh but their soft, fluffy paper beddding has been replaced by large clumps of hard pieces of paper that have a chemical smell and do not absorb urine as well. I again reached out to the company which again offered free coupons for replacement bags but the bags in the stores are just as bad so that was no help. I'm afraid to order online because I don't know what I'll receive. In the past I've returned bags to Amazon, Chewy and Petsmart online. I think my days of buying Carefresh Ultra are over and that is really sad. - VGreat for the price.Its works and helps to reduce the gunie pigs smell.
- SavannahGreat Low-Dust Option for Bunnies with Sinus IssuesCarefresh White Paper Bedding is one of my two favorite options for my bunnies. Both of them have sinus issues, so finding a bedding that’s truly low-dust is really important—and this one makes a big difference. There’s no dust cloud when I pour it in, and I’ve noticed a lot less sneezing and irritation since I started using it.
It’s soft, absorbent, and does a good job with odor control. I clean their space every day, but even between cleanings, it keeps things dry and fresh. There’s no weird smell, and no added colors, which I appreciate.
If you have bunnies with sensitive breathing or just want something clean and safe, this is a solid choice. It’s worked well for mine, and I keep coming back to it. - Denise DWorks well for small hamsters not for large hamsters or Guinea pigs .This is great bedding for dwarf hamsters but not Guinea pigs or large hamsters. The odor control only works for small hamsters. I have 2 hamsters and had Guinea pigs in the past and I can honestly say it works well for my winter white dwarf hamster. It never helped for my Guinea pigs and my new hamster a Syrian long haired hamster has his cage smelling in a few days no matter how clean I keep the bedding.
