- Michael KThrilling/inspiringSuper exciting, and inspiring book. I got a couple chapters in and actually booked a trip with jungle keepers. Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast, or just like a good adventure read this is for you. 10/10 recommend.
- Gayo L PrimicIncredible ReadMother of God is an incredible read. Paul’s storytelling is out of this world. He kept me so deeply engaged that I couldn’t put the book down, it was almost addictive. He writes beautifully, making me feel as though I’m right there with him on his Amazon adventures. Highly recommended.
- NickMisprints. Random chunks of pages are out of orderI have not finished the book, but So far a very interesting read. Exactly what I was looking for. He paints a vivid picture of the amazon and is clearly a strong advocate for environmental conservation. I’m from New York too and I feel like I’m reading a book written by a friend.
The only reason I’m writing a review before finishing is because the book itself has some misprints. Theres a chunk of about 30 pages where random pages are out of order. Luckily page numbers are labeled, but it was confusing me before I noticed. Had to turn back pages to read chronologically. (It would go from page 94, to 97, 96, 95 them back to 98… and then it would repeat the same pattern a few pages later. - An honest pondererOne of the best books on the Amazon that I have ever readWonderfully written. Rosolie captures the essence and magic of the deep rainforest, sketching a beautiful portrait of dark and mysterious trees, jaguars and capybara, uncontacted tribes, and a life-giving river. He taps into our sense of intrigue and fascination with his extensive treatment and exploration of a corner of the Amazon to which no known living human has ever ventured. He elicits our more tender selves with a heartwarming narrative of Lulu, the baby giant anteater who becomes as much an object of affection as any human baby might. And he grabs our curiosity for wildlife that borders on the surreal and the unbelievable, such as giant anacondas which would break the record books in a region that is only known to Santiago, an old native bearing a rich history of private lore. For a confessed dyslexic, this is an absolutely masterful job. I kept trying to look for the ghost writer acknowledgement but could not find one -- this is Rosolie himself, as good as any career writer might be.
- JMFOne of the most memorable books you'll readSimply said: an incredible book.
- Nicholas GomezA MASTERPIECE FOR ADVENTURERSThis book is a masterpiece that will take you out of your concrete jungle and into a luscious, vast, mind-expanding Amazonian one, instead.
I feel so inspired and motivated to spice up my life after reading this. I also feel less afraid of certain animals than I did before I read it.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND! - Jordanamazing storytellingIncredible book, fascinating and thrilling . Authors tone can be condescending, you only see things from one perspective. odd little comments around conservation and anything not in his small realm of thinking.
- Carly JohnsonAbsolute wordsmithWow. I bought this to have a foundation before buying his newest book Junglekeeper & this was phenomenal. He is not only a wordsmith painting a picture so clear that you feel you’re surrounded by the rivers of the Amazon, giant otters, & macaws but it is so real and heartfelt in every friendship & person that becomes part of his life. Can’t wait to share this with others and buy his newest book now.
