Omg, this book was so freaking funny! I loved the characters, the storyline was truly good, and the humor just made this such a great book! I'm so glad that Kindle recommended me this book, I'd never have just stumbled across it!

(Hey author, I hope you read this! Why do authors put random dudes on the covers? How does that guy represent this book? Do you think this cover art would attract a reader? Personally, this type of cover really deters me. Please just go with text covers! This book was too good to be ruined by such a bad cover!)

Fake Dates and Fanged Mistakes is an excellent beginning to this new series.
Julian and Casimir are hilarious together. They play off of each other beautifully.
Even with the odd start to their relationship, I was invested and believed in them as a couple early on. I found their bond to be sexy, believable, and satisfying. I am content with their HFN.
There was loads of action, and I was on the edge of my seat several times.
The sometimes sneaky (but most times over the top) humor and almost slapstick-style action kept me giggling. I can always count on this author to tickle my funny bone, and I was not disappointed this time. I enjoyed every minute of this book.
I lost sleep with this one. I didn’t want to put it down.

I look forward to more from this author.

This was definitely a more unusual read for me. I like comedy but this teetered on ridiculous at times. It took me a while to read because I could only handle it in small doses. Objectively the book is fairly well done! It has mystery and action, well developed characters, and great character dynamic. There were some parts that made me question what was happening with the timing. At times the character voices experienced dramatic shifts. When Casimir becomes more solemn it didn't feel very authentic to me considering how his character is for 80% of the story.

I hope Cyrus' character gets more depth in the 2nd novel. I see potential there but unsure how the author wanted to take it. In the end though I don't see myself reading the sequel but this was still enjoyable. Recommend!

This is definitely on the light hearted side of the fence, even the serious moments ended with me laughing. There is one scene with a police officer that I am STILL laughing about.
Julian (werewolf) surprised me by being “real”, not just a fake sunshine character. He wasn’t afraid to speak up when he was afraid of something or when he had ouchies. I loved him for it. I mean he’s a total cheese ball of happiness but with depth.
Casimir (vampire) also surprised me because he wasn’t just the grumpy foil to the sunshine character. He was freaking funny! While being a growly grump. I definitely need more of his backstory.
The supporting characters were, as always in a Winters book, superb. Ezio cracked me up, especially in the police officer scene. I can already see the spinoff series with him and the human detective Cyrus. Julian's relationship with his family members was so darn funny! The personalities there were hilarious.
The plot was solid with mystery, investigation, and resolution. Just how I like it. The dual POV was excellent, their inner voices were distinct and it was easy to tell who was talking.
This is another solid, funny, romantic, and enjoyable new series from the amazing Ms. Winters. I have zero regrets about preordering it! I absolutely recommend reading it!

I absolutely loved every word of this book! I was immediately pulled into Julian and Casimir's story and could not put it down. This had all the trademarks of a great story: engaging characters, intriguing plot, smart and witty dialogue, humor, action, a strong connection between the MCs, the perfect amount of steam, and an amazing supporting cast. The connection between Julian and Cas was my favorite part. As they navigated the divide between the weres and vampires, they began fake dating to show that it was possible for them all to get along. The more time they spent together, the more their attraction grew and I just adored both of them. Julian's energy and kindness was just fabulous against Casimir's grumpiness. They played off each other so well and Casimir's protectiveness of Julien was fierce and a joy to read. This sits very high at the top of my favorite books by the author and I was absolutely thrilled to hear she is writing a second book in this world!

5.0 out of 5 stars Unexpectedly Brilliant

As a connoisseur of smut, I had very specific expectations based on the summary I read of this book. The author smashed them all within the first two chapters.

I have never laughed so much at a romance novel in my life. The absolute absurd extremes of Julian’s and Casimir’s personalities goes so far beyond any of the tropes they encompass, but in a way that makes you giddy when the slow burn finally catches flame.

The jokes are all spot-on. I found myself snort-laughing at parts, reading the funniest passages out loud to my husband when I could catch my breath. He is a hard nut to crack, but even he laughed out loud.

The story is brilliant, and easy to read. The writing is impeccable. The spice is tasty without being overly raunchy. I honestly can’t wait for the next book!
