- DanielleGreat level at a great price.Worked great. I originally got a Bosch one but you can't turn off the auto level feature so if you are leveling at a higher angle than the level allows it turns off. I returned it and got this one. It is a fantastic value. It's easy to use and works reliably.

As long as the surface it is on is not very uneven, the self leveling feature works great (Though the laser wobbling as it settles into position can make you feel a bit seasick). The lines are accurate, and they are wide enough to make a level line around 3 walls.
The only problem with this is that it cannot be angled more than a couple degrees without it going haywire. This means that the level needs to be placed on a relatively level surface within a couple of inches of the hight of the line you are marking. I am a photographer, so I have no shortage of light stands that can reach over 12 feet in height, but many people buying a laser level in this price range for home use will, lacking a tall tripod or similar equipment, have to come up with creative ways to create a level line high up on a wall. The standard tripod mount on the bottom is perfect for mounting it on a portable, extendable base. - Ryan L. WilsonNot for ceiling work.This is very good for the price! Contrary to many reviews here, I found it to be plenty bright enough, but I was using it indoors in a 12'x15'x8'5" room. That being said, it wasnt useful for my project because of one major design flaw: The back of it isnt flat, so you cannot use it to accurately project onto the ceiling.... At least without a tripod. I ended up sticking this in the garage with all the other one-off tools and laying out the can lights the old fashioned way. It wouldve been so easy to design this thing differently, but they didnt.
- DougWorks greatI'm using this to install 12" round pavers in a winding gravel walk, spaced about 18" apart. I need them to be level with the gravel surface, both for appearance and safety (to avoid trip hazards). It works very well, and I like that it uses AA batteries rather than requiring recharge.
I set the level on a previously leveled paver, use a stick marked with the ideal depth, and dig out gravel and soil until the laser indicates the depth is correct. A quick check after the paver is set in place, using the same stick with a different mark, confirms it's good. - T.HPut this in your toolbox. Lots of uses.This tool is a huge timesaver and worth every penny. I attached it to a telescoping camera tripod (tool comes with mounting holes) and used it to install over 20 shelves of various sizes on 6 walls in my basement entertainment area. It was so fast lining up a shelf while on a ladder. I wasn’t constantly reaching for a level to check for level and plumb. This tool’s finest moment was while putting multiple small shelves that were “stacked” on top of each other up both walls of an inside corner. Lining up all the shelf brackets vertically up both walls so they were perfectly level was actually enjoyable because it was so easy while standing on a ladder. All the shelves came out perfect and looked seamless from wall to wall. Using this Lazer level was so much faster than putting a level on the wall and putting tick marks where each screw and shelf bracket would go. Easily saved me hours of time. Very easy to accomplish with this tool with the illuminated level and plumb lines. I used it to install the shelves, sconces, dartboard, big screen tv, electric wall mounted fireplace and wall cabinets. I can assure you everything in this room is level and plumb, lol. I use it as much as a conventional level now. I mounted it to a 5 foot telescopic camera tripod. This helped a ton because it kept the lazer level in one spot and all I needed to do was swivel it to the wall I was working on at that time.

Low price but great quality.I use this laser level on a tripod ( you don't always need a tripod though) and it makes leveling *anything* very accurate and saves a lot of time and any guesswork. I wish I had bought something like this years ago but I'm happy to own one now.
- JoMassSeems easy to use but definitely need better instructionsThe item seems easy to use with only 2 buttons. One is easy to figure out. It turns it on and right away, the two crosshaired lines appear on the wall. The one on top can be pushed (can't figure out what it does when you push it) and it appears red first and turns to green when the perfect level is reached. There are some instructions included that are totally useless. I had to use a magnifying glass to read them and the drawings supposedly there to show how to use the item don't mean anything. Please include some instructions that are worth something! I wanted to hang some pictures and kind of winged it. I can't figure out how to move the level upward without losing the perfect level. Frustrating.
- CandidQualityAble to see line clearly at night over 220'Bought this to make sure I was able to set the straightness for my fence across the entire length of my yard. I appreciate the larger, more expensive, units being available for daytime use, or for people making money off a job, but this handled my need sperfectly.
Simple, easy to use. Able to set the line, and by working from far end back to the laser, able to set the posts square with the cross laser.
If you do not have good vision and want to get to a similar distance I would recommend one of the green laser target packs. About $6 for one or a 5 pack for about $15. I considered it, but thought I would do a quick test the weekend prior and there were zero issues seeing that at night.
Color me impressed.
