- ShanaGreat price on this large bag; very freshI usually buy whole raw almonds for cooking, and I buy them at the grocery store when I do my shopping. However, due to the lockdown, my store was out and I wanted to make some almond paste for bear claws (so much easier, cheaper, and better than buying it) so I came here and was surprised to see this bag, the same one I usually buy, for $2 less than my local big box store, and $3 less than my local grocery store. These have a best-by date of March 2022. They are very fresh and made great almond paste. I also toasted some to top a chocolate cake I made for my husband's birthday and they were delicious; I was happy to find them mostly whole and not crushed, and glad I could use them as is in cereals and granolas (I kind of expected them to be a bit smooshed from shipping, but they were perfect). I'm not often aware of food items being cheaper here than in the store (at least on 2-day Prime delivery), so I'm super happy to have made this accidental discovery; now I'll just have them delivered to my door, skipping the trip to the store altogether, and save myself a bit of cash (we go through a LOT of almonds LOL).
