Top reviews from the United States
- SpencerViltrox 15mm, 85mm f2, 50 1.4 ProI purchased the viltrox 15mm 1.7, 85mm f2 FE, and 50 1.4 Pro FE.
Viltrox 15mm 1.7: Great lens, fantastic for the price, great quality! Sharp enough for my needs and lightweight. Great walk around wide lens and great for night time. Great for vlogging. I watched YouTube reviews on it which were favorable, I'm happy with my purchase.
Viltrox 85mm f2 EVO FE (photo of girl in skates)
Heavier with superior build quality than the 15 & 56. Decently sharp lens. Bokeh is nice and smooth. Autofocus is fast and silent. Great value for the price as is the same for all viltrox lenses.
Viltrox 50mm 1.4 Pro FE. (Boy in red shirt photos).
I upgraded my camera body from a6400 to a7vi so I needed a 50mm. WOW. Amazing build quality and weather sealing. At f1.4 with eye tracking my camera was nailing the focus. Mild vignetting, slightly prone to ghosting/flaring with strong backlighting, but the bokeh is very dreamy. Less than 1/2 the cost of the Sony 50 GM 1.4 it performs VERY well period. So far I’m very happy with my purchase, I think this will stay on my camera most of the time. Now I’m considering adding the viltrox 35mm LAB. - Ignacio GuzmánAmazing lens, sharp, fast and funIncredible quality for the price. Not even a phone wide-angle can capture that much o a scene. Of course there will be a lot of distorsion but that's how you can achieve interesting and compelling pictures.
You can get absurdly close with subjects and still get sharp focus. I bought it for my Sony A6700 - SandunExcellent Performance and Value: Viltrox 56mm f/1.2 ProI am very satisfied with the Viltrox AF 56mm f/1.2 Pro. It delivers excellent sharpness and creamy bokeh even at f/1.2, along with fast, quiet autofocus and a solid all-metal build.
- MindcontrolDo not sell this lens!Because you will waste money by having to purchase it again. For the price this lens is top notch. The 23mm 1.4 give you enough background separation that you photos will not look like they were taken with a smartphone. The lens is also no too big, and it has a solid metal construction. The colors are beautiful, the motors focus fast enough, and the images are sharp.
This is actually my second time purchasing this lens. I used it for years on my Fuji body as part of my video conferencing setup. I switched over to Sony and used the pancake 20mm 2.8, but I needed more light so I went with what I new had worked for me in the past. Why didn't I rush to buy this right away? I don't know. Since receiving it I do not think this will leave my video conferencing setup. Would I shoot with it apart from using it as a webcam? In a heartbeat. If you are on a budget this can be your primary lens if looking for something with this focal length. The only thing that I find that a more expenisve lens would give you is faster motors and less chromatic abberation (CA). The CA is the only negative that I can find to this lens. In high contrast areas I tend to get some green artifacts. It can be noticable in photo and video. In a weird way it doesn't really bother me in video, it's kind of a greenish hue in the background, but I know its not an accurate representation of my background. For me this is a minor issue, even with photo. These can be adjusted to some degree and really doesn't take away from all the awesome qualities that this lens has. Get it and do not hesistate. My only other wish would be that they would update the USB port to USB-C for firmware updates. Other than that this is a solid 9/10 considering the price that you are paying for this. - Vahvoom Beats**Excellent Budget Lens with Minor Trade-offs** ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5 stars)I picked up the VILTROX 25mm f1.7 for my Sony E-mount camera, and for under $200, it's been a solid addition to my kit.
**The Good:**
This lens punches well above its price point. When you have decent lighting, it produces sharp images with nice depth of field thanks to the f1.7 aperture. It's incredibly beginner-friendly – I had no issues figuring it out right away. The autofocus works reliably and speed is pretty decent, which is impressive at this price range. For anyone starting out in photography or looking for an affordable prime lens, this is a fantastic option.
**The Not-So-Good:**
The AF motor is audibly loud – you'll definitely hear the stepping motor hunting for focus, especially in quiet environments. This might be an issue if you're shooting video. Another thing to note: there's no manual focus ring on the lens itself. You'll need to adjust focus through your camera's menu/settings, which can be a bit inconvenient when you want quick manual control. Small and portable as well.
**Low Light Performance:**
In low-light situations, I haven't gotten the results I was hoping for, though I suspect this might be partially due to my camera body rather than just the lens. It's not terrible, but don't expect miracles in dimly lit conditions.
**Bottom Line:**
For the price, this lens is absolutely worth it. Yes, it has some limitations, but show me another sub-$200 autofocus lens that performs this well in good lighting. If you're a beginner or budget-conscious photographer looking for a solid prime lens to experiment with, I'd recommend giving the VILTROX 25mm f1.7 a shot.
**Recommended for:** Beginners, budget shooters, daylight/well-lit photography
**Not ideal for:** Video work (noisy AF), low-light situations, those who need manual focus ring
