First thank you to Briar and the publishers for an earc of this book.

Second…. What the heck!!! I can’t even begin to describe everything I read in this book and I feel like I need a week to process it all. So much seemed to happen and then so much did happen… some unexpected that I didn’t see coming. It wow I enjoyed every chapter this book had to offer!

I will say having multiple points of views from the characters might make the story seem a little hard, but Briar made each one work perfectly. She showed me some views that I was not expecting and it goes to show “never judge a book by its cover”

Last, I want to say “what the heck was that ending?” I am going to need the next book like yesterday ????

Without giving too many details of the book, all I've got to say and quote from Briar herself is, "Please don’t throw your Kindles too hard." We learn a few new things about the dragons, Medra, Blake, and many more in this book. Briar did a fantastic job of showing us even more character growth in this book.
I personally wasn't expecting the amount of pov changes in this one compared to the other 2 in the series. Be prepared for that if you're the type that doesn't like it as much.

Again I'd like to thank Briar Boleyn, MIRA, and Netgalley for giving me this opportunity to read this book
  • The writing pulls you in and keeps you intrigued the whole way through!!
    ⭐️⭐️⭐️️⭐️/ ️????️????️????️

Book 3 in the Bloodwing Academy took this entire series and kicked it up to 11. Everything you love about books 1 and 2 is present, but Briar Boleyn gives readers so much more with her characters, storyline, and world building. This entire series has been amazing and it isn’t over yet. We get more POVs through this book, which creates a much more vivid picture of what is happening in the story.

Blake continues to be Blake, but you can tell he is trying hard for Medra. His character arc has been one of my favorites. Now don’t get me wrong, I actually liked him in books 1 and 2. Morally grey men doing what they need to do has always been a trope I enjoy. But now seeing him trying to be everything that Medra deserves has my heart racing and my feet kicking in glee. Medra needs this too. She continues to be amazing and strong. She has come into your own and fully owns it.

I loved getting a deeper look into the POVs that were introduced. Love them or hate them, they add to the story and the overall journey. Briar blends them in perfectly. With some she creates more of a found family vibe that strengthens the bonds between these amazing characters. Her writing pulls you in and keeps you intrigued the whole way through.

Beyond the amazing book Briar delivers, I have to give a shout out to her writing talents as a whole. I have always loved her writing, but watching her grow and finding her style has been amazing. The confidence can be seen and felt in every new book that she releases. This is what I am most excited to see more of as her author career continues. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for book 4!

As always, review any author notes before reading.

    What to Expect:
    ????Dark Academia
    ????Vampires
    ????Dragons
    ????Enemies to Lovers
    ????Forced Proximity
    ????Morally Grey Men
  • What a series!
I truly love this series. I did feel a little lost at times with all the different points of view in this book, but it definitely got better from the middle toward the end. I also wish there had been more of Medra and Blake, but I understand that the other characters have important roles to play as well. I’m just hoping everyone gets a happy ending by book four. It’s definitely worth the read!
  • Great recap of book 2, read this in 4 days! The series just gets better!
I received this as an e-ARC and this is my honest review.

I again devoured another Bloodwing Academy book, The Wings that Bind, and am shaking my head with a smile of how deliciously satisfying it was yet I’m left hanging for book 4, With Hearts of Flame!

I was anxiously waiting to find out what was the state of all the characters from where things left off from book 2. Things are brought right back into the academy and things are a bit out of sorts due to the ending of book 2. Seems like characters are recovering just as much as I am from where things left off.

Boleyn did an excellent job recapping what all has happened in the first two books. Definitely helped in trying to remember everything that has happened thus far.

So many things are happening in the academy and a good portion of tense drama. Of course things are on and off again like Ross and Rachel with Medra and Blake. Kage is still mysterious as fog. And things get interesting with Florence and Regan.

Oh, Florence. So sweet, so kind, and innocent. Kind of. Following her POV feels like a coming-of-age and her bond with Nyxaris gets quite interesting. Curious to see how far her rider bond goes and what challenges will arise with such power.

The new POV of Regan had me questioning how much of a villain she truly is. Is she evil to the core or just trying to survive and make the most of the cards she’s been dealt with? The truths she discovers offers more depth to her as a character that she’s not just a villain, maybe evil is something you’re born with, but created.
