Transferring my data using samsung smart switch is quite easy, but it takes a little bit of time to set up and personalize my phone again. I pick this phone because it is affordable and has long term security updates. I personally do not like to change phone every year. The wifi and mobile connectivity is good and smooth. I don't use my phone for work or gaming. So this model series is sufficient for my basic needs, just for emails, calling, texting, reading and sometimes watching video. Overall, I recommend this phone for people with basic needs.

Excellent display, and smoothness.
The only problem it's the 4GB of RAM.
When more than 4 apps open at the same time , it starts to struggle, and there are some other options around the price that don't do that.
But my father doesn't even notice that and he is very happy with the phone. - TonyAJust as useful as a premium model.I loved my old Samsung Note 9 for its ability to scribble a note on the fly. But sadly it died and since moving to a less expensive provider, a cash and carry phone phone was necessary. The A17 was a great bargain and I can't tell a difference between it and my old Note 9 except for the writing stylus feature. I'm adapting and I'm happy.

The A14 was a huge speed upgrade from the A12. The A17 feels about the same as the A14 and A15.
I like the JETECH cases the best - great fit and feel - but there aren't a lot of color options.
The screen on the A17 doesn't appear to be as bright as the A12/A14/A15, but it's definitely easier on the eyes.
The cameras on ALL of the A1x series phones absolutely stink. The A17 is no exception. At least the 0.5x is back on this model, although not present in selfie mode. The cameras are the ONLY thing I truly dislike about these phones.
Speed and function is very good for a sub-$200 unlocked phone.
These work well with Tello, Red Pocket, and Mint Mobile.
In some ways, the Motorola G Power phones are a little better, especially now that they added NFC on their entry level phones, but they only have 2 years of security updates on their cheaper phones, and Samsung is up to 6 years.
As with any tech, you get what you pay for. I think these are a good value. Anything noticeably better is going to run you well over 300 dollars.
