- JakeIncredible transfer of one of Scott’s most underrated filmsWhile the original Blu Ray still looks great, this 4k transfer is a worthy step up for fans. Incredible crusader epic that makes up for some sketchy historical accuracy with pure entertainment and solid filmmaking
- Tony F.Another Ridley Scott Epic! Preorder full filled at the 11th hour! This is a review of the long awaited Kingdom of Heaven 4K steelbook (not a film review).
Widely considered one of Ridley Scott’s greatest works, it’s great to add it to the collection to take its place among other Ridley Scott epics such as Gladiator, Blade Runner and Black Hawk Down!
It’s a wonderful 4K transfer that will bring your home theater alive with a total of 3 discs plus the digital copy.
4K disc (Director’s cut & Director’s cut Roadshow Version) Full 194 Minutes of Scott’s original vision before the 20th Century Fox cuts
Blu-Ray Disc 1 (Director’s cut & Director’s cut Roadshow Version)
Blu-Ray Disc 2 ( Bonus Material)
The transfer itself has been widely touted as excellent. Cover art is beautiful and a handsome addition to the Steelbook collection.
My hope is there will be additional copies/reprints so anyone that wants it can add it to their collection at a reasonable price, but it’s worth getting in 4K in whatever form it’s made available in the future.
My only issue is with how these are shipped in bubble mailers. At $60 a piece, it is expected to have a box since automated sorting machines and handling during delivery can easily cause great damage to these collectible cases. It’s no small miracle this arrived with only a small tear to the sharing film and no noticeable damage under the torn shrink.
I’ll count myself lucky, but luck runs out and with this currently out of stock I’d have been left with no recourse other than resellers which I refuse to feed.
Overall a wonderful addition to the collection and thankful to have had my preorder fulfilled at the 11th hour 10 days after its official release. - Jeremy GawthorpVery nice steelbook. The director’s cut of this is great. The steelbook is very nice. Nice quality.
- hakan medeniImage quality is very goodAlthough I ordered the same product 3 times before, I was unable to receive it due to shipping problems, but this time it arrived without any problems and without damage. Thank you.
As for the film itself, the visuals and sound are magnificent. It takes the film to a whole new level. - E.V.MUST HAVEFor fans of the movie and newcomers alike this is a must have treat. Ridley Scott's Roadshow cut is a must watch for any film enthusiast. The steelbook is beyond beautiful, its probably the nicest steelbook I own. Excellent 4k UHD, everything pops, I've noticed a few details that I never could in the HD versions.
- Karim SiregarOne of Ridley Scott’s best movieThe movie is a great classic. The steelbook packaging is great. It is the long version Director’s Cut of the movie. It also has some special footage. The 4K resolution is very sharp with lots of details.
- mmptmMust own.I'm a big Ridley Scott fan and this epic is one of his very best and one of my favorites, however there is one glaring problem with the center channel mix greatly affecting center channel dialogue. This movie is dialogue rich and critical to the plot with many scenes of whispering and I found myself cranking up the center channel well beyond normal listening. I have a very expensive 7.2 system so the problem is not with that but in how the movie was mixed in the studio and how Scott wanted the center channel to sound like the L/R speakers and therein lies the root cause of the problem; and Scott is not alone in using what is called full immersive audio.
But even with this problem it is highly recommended and a must own for movie lovers. As an aside my wife and I just saw MI Final Reckoning and we both thought some dialogue was very difficult to hear... - Austin HowardWould very much recommendExcellent case better dvd set
