- JanellWorks well but small amountThis sea salt works well for my hermit crab saltwater bath, but I usually make a gallon at a time so there's only about one. Maybe two mount worth of salt. It works. It's just not really probably something I would buy again. I would probably go with a different product that's a little bit cheaper for more. I have a big crab that needs at least a cup of salt water and so I go through the salt water a little bit faster then if I had smaller crabs.
