  • A good walking history of Queen Eleanor.
A very enjoyable book on the history of Queen Eleanor crosses with a walk of 200 miles. The author Alice Loxton following the path that her body was taken on the way to her burial in Westminster Abbey.
  • Missing Chapter?
Great story, well told. I think my audiobook is missing a chapter; chapter 17 is 00:38 seconds long and cuts off mid-sentence. Could be a stylistic choice in recognition of the forgotten women?

  • Enjoyable Read
For someone who enjoys history and adventure this was a wonderful read. I absolutely loved how Ms. Loxton incorporated different idioms into the book as she went about her travels. The book gives you a different perspective on how deeply Edward l loved Queen Eleanor and how he grieved over her loss. It is now on my bucket list to take this journey myself.
  • Engaging and well written!
This is such a well researched story beautifully told!
