- S. MackKeeps our Ring doorbell fully charged even with indirect sunlight!Almost one year later, this solar charger does exactly what it advertises - keeps our Ring fully charged despite not receiving direct sunlight for much of the fall and winter. The solar charger was straightforward to install and has just worked flawlessly. I highly recommend this charger if you have the space for it under your Ring doorbell. Mounting was easy as was connecting it to the Ring. Make sure you don't lose the little orange device to take the Ring off the charger!
- heartzemaaSolar good.It works, not a big fan of this years ring generation though. After 4 months it slowly drained even connected to the solar and it died and never came back on even when charged. Also, the mount plate likes to get jammed. Worse ring design.
- ebinnerCool doorbell and I love the solar chargerReally happy that I got a Ring doorbell camera with a solar charger. I had another brand that used lithium batteries and I was constantly having to change them which was expensive and taking the camera off and putting it back on was a real pain. Then somebody finally stole that camera took the lithium batteries and threw the rest on the ground. This takes it to a whole new level. I do live in a very sunny area so this solar battery works great. My battery level is always at 100%. We'll see when winter comes but I don't think it's going to make much of a difference I'm in Southern California so we have lots of sunny days. Also it's way more sturdy and the picture quality is better too
I was trying to save money by buying the less expensive brand but ended up having to spend more money anyways... so my advice is just get the good one first.
Oh and being able to talk to the person at your door to let them know you're on your way or whatever is a great feature.. My camera is at the gate not my front door so it takes me a second to get there and this really helps - Amazon CustomerHelps to not recharge as often!Easy to mount and install. Just a reminder, a solar charger does not replace regular charging. I thought it did at first but it does help me not have to charge as frequently!! I recommend if you cannot hardwire your ring to absolutely get the solar charger as well.
- Product and Business ExpertGood product that can use improvementOriginally wrote a one star review but upgraded to four. I had this thing sitting in the sun all day, and it showed that it had not taken any charge, but the reality is the ring cam Just took a while to update It’s charge status. It took approximately 30% charge in a single day. Not giving it five stars due to two reason reasons: product will be useless in the winter since it won’t charge at freezing temperature or below (based on anecdotal reviews). Product does not attach to ring camera very clearly… Based on available information, it appears the charge cable is what holds the ring camera up, so I am using double-sided tape to keep it in place.
- Carol RobertsAfter 1 month battery is still 100%!Put our battery ring on the solar charger almost a month ago. Battery is still at 100%. ???? We didn't want to drill holes in bricks so we used gorilla tape, holding up great.
- TYRONEGreat butBetter than I thought it would be
- Ziggy24gGood while it lastedWorked well for 11 months then stopped working. Bought in Dec 2024 and worked well until Nov when it suddenly decided to not charge despite ample sunlight. Now it is basically a mount and I have to unplug and charge it manually.
