- Philip EstesAmazing movie for showing the importance of math and not giving up on disabilitiesFantastic movie for those who are interested in how math can influence, culture, and business as well as how those with apparent disabilities can become masters of any particular field of professional study and expertise. Great story! Great acting. This copy is fantastic and worth the price.

- DeverusA Beautiful and Captivating Film - but a terrible AcademyEnough has been written and reviewed about this excellent movie which is now my second copy. While the real Nash is said to be more complicated than portrayed in the film (and who made some questionable moral decisions before the movie's time line), it has to be said that the Academy totally ripped-off Russell Crowe by denying him the Oscar for Best Actor because his unexpected talents absolutely shined throughout the film. Of course, it's not the first time (nor last) that the elitists in the Academy promote their own despicable agenda over deserving artists, and while some Reviewers here simply didn't grasp the material this movie is definitely a Keeper to watch multiple times at one's pleasure.

Russel Crowe plays John Nash who is a mathematical genius. He is a very unique person, who is socially awkward and doesn't care a lot for people in general. His mathematical work lead him to do some work for the pentagon due to his ability to decipher codes. He also starts work as a professor at MIT and that is where he meets his future wife. Unbeknownst to anyone, he had been having episodes of paranoid schizophrenia and believes he is talking to people that aren't really there. One of whom is supposed to be a government agent and John starts working for him and starts to leave "confidential" material at a drop location. Then they are lead on a car chase with people shooting at them. This however is all part of his schizophrenia and doesn't really exist. Once his wife realizes what is going on with her husband she sends him to a mental hospital for treatment. During this time his delusions stop and he seems to be ok. However, he later stopped taking his medications and the delusions started again. He eventually learns to ignore the imaginary people that he sees and learns to cope with his disease. The film ends with him receiving a Nobel Prize for mathematics.
- RashemiaOutstanding Performance by Russell CroweA Beautiful Mind gives a glimpse of the struggles people face with mental disorders. For the most part, most of them are not aware they suffer from such a disease of the mind. The world becomes complicated to them and its difficult to differentiate between the imagination and reality. I saw this movie a few years ago and once it was released on blu-ray I had to have it. I am a psychology major and this brought life to many of the disorders I have studied. This is a beautiful movie not only about the complexities of the mind but also about love. Although he was suffering from this uncontrollable disease his wife stood by him and nurtured him. Many people are not that lucky especially when an illness arise. I recommend this movie to people who are intrigued by what goes on in the mind of someone with schizophrenia and also to witness what true love can bring to a persons life.
- Darrell A. BenhamA Beautiful Mind (Widescreen)(2001)One of Russell Crowe’s best performances. Emotional, inspiring, and still just as moving years later.
- Shaun SpendloveIf you stick with something you can achieve your dreams! One of the best movies I’ve seen! Starring Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly. About a mentally challenged man who later gets married goes to University and gets Noble prize non Economics, go figure!
