- TenebraLectorRelentless, gritty, and pure Statham energy from start to finishSafe (often mistaken for “Shelter”) is exactly what you want from a Jason Statham film, but with a stronger plot and more substance than expected. This isn’t just action for the sake of it. There’s a real story driving every punch, every chase, every decision.
Statham plays Luke Wright, a former elite cage fighter whose life has been completely destroyed. After crossing the wrong people, he’s left with nothing, marked by both the Russian mob and corrupt cops. He’s a man with nothing left to lose, drifting through New York like a ghost.
Everything changes when he encounters a young girl being hunted. She isn’t just any target. She’s a human safe, carrying a numerical code in her memory that multiple powerful groups desperately want. Suddenly, Luke is thrown into a brutal race against time, protecting her while being hunted from all sides.
What makes the plot work so well is the layered conflict:
Russian mob
Chinese Triads
Corrupt NYPD officers
All colliding at once, creating constant pressure and zero breathing room.
Statham is at his best here. Focused, efficient, and completely believable as a man operating on instinct and experience. He’s not flashy. He’s precise and dangerous, which makes the action feel grounded and impactful.
One standout sequence involves him methodically taking apart a room full of armed men, using speed, positioning, and sheer force. No wasted movement. No hesitation. Just controlled violence done right.
The Blu-ray looks fantastic:

Dollars is insane for a 4k steelbook you guys need to chill out everyone's getting to greedy.
