Our Perfect StormTop reviews from the United States
- Jamie VitolsRead it in one day ! beautifully written!Frankie’s story told in such a beautiful way ! I absolutely loved this book ! I love her writing ! So many ways in which she sucks you into her stories !
Childhood friends to so much more than that! The way she takes the story writing process full circle is absolutely amazing !
Then /Now chapters are my favorite bec the “connections that she makes in how she tells the story!
She wrote their love story in such a magical way ! Tastefully spicy too and by the time you get to His view of their story OMG !
She is an auto buy author ! I read the 3 books prior to this one ! So should you! - Kelly MuschaAbsolute PerfectionWhen I read Carley’s “Every Summer After” I thought none would top it. Then I read “Our Perfect Storm.” This book is so raw and beautiful. The writing weaves past and present, which allows the reader to feel the build up & emotions. The longing in this book - aahhhh!! Top tier. No notes. It’s wild how much emotion and yearning can be conveyed through glances, simple touches, and of course, letters. Carley absolutely nails that. I love Frankie and George. Please please please go read this book❤️
- a readerLetdown after ESA & OGS but Still a Great Summer ReadHighly anticipated after 2025's One Golden Summer sequel to Every Summer After because The Florek boys are everything. Loved the setting (Tofino sounds gorgeous), but the book was off balance. Long-suffering George was so thoughtful & obviously in love with his BFF Frankie. Other than shared history, I wondered why. She's supposed to be independent (as was Jo in her fave book Little Women), but she spends a lot of time sobbing, moping, resenting, & pushing everyone away. She's oblivious to George's obvious devotion even when he's traveling the world for work & firmly consigns him to the friend zone (but doesn't date anyone else beyond a plot device brief hasty engagement to wildly unsuitable guy). At 30, she still thinks romance will kill their 27 yr friendship? Even their magical week in Tofino when they're together is unsettled by her reticence & constant disbelief they can be a couple. There are a lot of flashbacks to the besties at 8, 12, 16, 20, & last year that disrupt the flow & don't serve the story. Still, she writes beautiful sentences and has the ability to transport. It's a good book, just a 4 not a 5.
- Adriana SeguraCarely Fortune the writer that you areI've enjoyed most of Carley Fortune books, I really enjoy her writing style, her range but how it still feels recognizable when you read it. This is by FAR my favourite of her. This story is so pure, and raw, and tender, and sweet and wholesomely destroying. There are so many lessons to take from both George and Frankie from here as much as to enjoy them discovering themselves as more.
- GatorgusOne Perfect Read! This is a fantastic story that weaves between past and present effortlessly. Frankie and George have so much depth- even the side characters felt integral to the plot, and were written in a way that they slotted perfectly. So much angst and love between the characters. Definitely my new favorite from Carley Fortune.
- PatriciaNo words for how good this story isThe best book I’ve read in a long time!! 100/10. Fortune has such a way of transporting you to so many fantastic places, I really felt that I was in Tofino.
Until her next book, I will be desperate for an adventure….???? - MMCLoveEvery new book Carley Fortune writes is better than the last. She painted such a beautiful picture of the setting but the love story is pull at your heart strings and kick your feet good!
- Alexandra A.Another amazing story by Carley!I've read all of Carey's books but this one was just so special. I laughed, cried a ton, but also felt so tied to the characters. I had to stop all things just to devour this book in one day.
