I am IT Systems Professional for over a decade of experience, and by far it has exceeded my expectations.
BEST DEVICE OUT THERE FOR REALIBLITY AND SECURITY, at home or for a business.
Work:
I would recommend the Dream Machine Router for small companies such as a dentist office, restaurant or coffee shop. Do keep in mind depending on your location size, you may want to expand your Wi-Fi by adding AP's. For those that have internet speed exceeding 1gb, keep in mind that this device will knock that speed down by 10-25% due to all the security settings being turned on. I personally have 400mbs at home, so I am affected by this.
Work 2:
I professionally run UniFi at my place at work and have right under 100 Unify devices. Network administration has never been so easy. The professional and consumer interface is about 90% identical.
I personally would not use Unifi within an enterprise environment. High level backend commands such as SSH can be tricky, manual and overly complex vs Cisco or Fortigate. This is really meant for small, med, big but not enterprise companies.
Conclusion:
I personally own this device along with 2 switches and 2 APs, and it works flawlessly.
If you are techy I would recommend this for home use. You can setup rules, VLANS and take advantage of enterprise security settings.
If you are not a techy, you can set this up in 20mins tops from the app and leave it alone. Standard security will be applied.
Best bang for your buck is to setup all the advance security features and segregate your network by VLANS.
