To quote my 5 year old: "I love it actually." This is a slightly more advanced dress up and play kind of game whch incorporates vocabulary, too. At the beginning, the player gets to first build the character (hair, facial features, clothes etc.)then gets to place the character in different areas of a house and give her/him various things such as pets. With each choice comes even more choices, which help the player learn vocab. An example, once the player chooses a pet, the game asks what the pet likes to do. If the player selected skateboard, we then see the pet skate past... The player learns to associate the new vocabulary word with the visual s/he sees. It's clever, and my daughter has played it every day since we downloaded the app. She really does love it.

I got this app for my granddaughter (3 years old) who loves to borrow my Kindle when she visits. She really liked this app and spent a lot of time playing it. Her mom was helping her a little with it, but she caught on very quickly. It was fun as well as educational for her. I like that it encourages creativity and is interactive. Great app for the youngsters.

I really enjoy that Amazon does a free app of the day. With that in mind I searched today's. Only to read reviews from parents who are stating that there kids love the app, enjoy it and spend A LOT of time on it. Come on parents, why don't you read a book to your child, teach them how to brush there hair and teeth and do there homework with them, maybe you can then say your child loves spending time with you, that you had a great day learning with each other and this and that. Get your kids off the kindle and in your life!

First I installed this just so I could write this will be uninstalled the second I am done, maybe even a half second. After weeks of super free apps, amazon continues the lame app tradition with app for infants... The game itself is OK for babies, or people with babies, the millions of us without kids , or like me have full grown kids, will find this a waste of 12 megs, and is the utter definition of lame... I would recommend it for a 3 year old with a CHILD APPROVED KIDS TABLET. Not a 259 kindle tablet.... That will and I mean WILL get broken, .... And lastly my commentary again on all you rich dummies that buy 8 year olds 2 and 3 hundered dollar tablets. Dumb dumb and dumb, first to teach a child the value of money, bad... They want what their parents have without knowing the value of money.... And t makes them consumers big time, they make child safe , bargain tablets that are tough, durable and made for clusy hands.. Ie saw a mom the other day in the grocery store give her 3 year old her iPhone 5s to quiet him, seconds later I saw him drop it on the concrete floor, she went ballistic. WHY it was her stupidity for handing the 500 device to a child.... Funny I thought, bet she think twice next time....

I have 3 children, 2 daughters ages 8 and 6, and one son age 3. I downloaded this app for my 3 year old son because its geared towards his age group, and he loves this. As do my girls! My 8 year old is an advanced 3 rd grader but finds enjoyment from all starfall apps but loves this one best. All 3 of my kids LOVE starfall. My 3 yearold can do this totally on his own and learns a lot from this. I recommend starfall apps to anybody with a toddler! And i assure you your older children will argue with the toddler to play!we bought our 8 year old a kindle for christmas and made sure to download the starfall apps on it. As silly as it is, its great for all ages. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

My boys love the starfall site and we have a starfall more account. This is the second starfall app we have (we have the phonics one also) and the boys enjoy both. I do wish there was a way to set up a profile for the children on this. Each time they play they have to start all over describing themselves or use their brother's. However, they enjoy sometimes changing who they are (lol) so it's not a big deal.

Cute app. Only one profile which can cause issues if you have more than one child. Your child will enjoy creating a lookalike. The graphics are cute and not overwhelming. But why the internet access? This is concerning to me for a child's app. Take away the internet access and add multiple profiles and it's five stars.

I have this app on my kindle fire for my kindgarden daughter. She loves it! Plays it daily. I like that it teaches her without her realizing she's learning. For example she has to read the screen before she can understand what her character is doing and she can click on the whole sentence or a word at a time. Great for learning her high frequency and sight words.
