I ordered the cutter for my wife. She is building some greenhouse plant supports, using 1/2" Schedule 40 PVC. My main concern was if she had the hand strength to use the cutter. (She is 77 years old and has a mild carpel tunnel problem.)
Result: It was NO PROBLEM! She found it easy to use and well within her ability.
The cutter appears well designed and built. The cutting blade was strong and sharp. I think it will last for quite awhile. We are happy with this choice.

I bought these to make 6 cuts in the max recommended pvc pipe of 1 1/4” (building some dog agility course items for my dog). I struggled (with 2 hands) and could not get it to cut, but hindsight says it was probably because I didn’t release enough to get it to ratchet. The first 2 cuts I set it on the floor and lightly stepped with my foot, pumping the ratcheting action until it cut. Once I had a shorter length to cut it seemed I had it figured out and was able to cut without the foot action ha ha. The cuts were clean on all but one towards an edge. The blade slightly twisted from the jaw area, but I likely had it too close to the edge, so that is user error. All in all I am happy with this little addition to my box, I am less afraid to cut pvc pipe since I have this. I couldn’t tell you how durable it is for the long term, but I think this is the perfect price point for someone who likes to add affordable tools to their arsenal. Very glad I did not spend more, and I feel like this will last me through this project and many more!
