About this item

ATTRACTIVE BLUE DESIGN - Sun2Solar solar blankets are made from a film of thousands of tiny bubbles, which work together to collect and retain heat both at night and on those chilly days. The blue color provides an appealing look while also using the sun’s rays to help warm your swimming pool.
MINIMIZE WATER EVAPORATION - The use of a solar cover helps in preventing up to 95% of pool water evaporation. When not enjoying a refreshing swim, keeping your pool covered lessens the vast amount of water lost into the environment. Fill up your swimming pool less and enjoy it more!
JUMP INTO WARMTH - Show friends and family your bravery by jumping in without the standard toe dip. Enter the swimming pool confidently knowing the Sun2Solar solar cover has kept the water warm just for you. It’s easy to put on and take off allowing more time for showing off.
HEAT RETENTION - After everyone has called it a day with wrinkled fingers from too much fun in the sun, make sure to place this solar cover back atop the water. Don’t lose all of that warmth generated throughout the day when the sun sets. Assure your pool’s temperature does not drop too much by protecting it at night through use of a solar blanket.
TRIM TO FIT - Your pool may be uniquely shaped and getting the right fit is as easy as finding a marker and sharp pair of scissors. Have the bubbles facing down to the water and trace a line on the cover showing where you should cut off the additional material. Do so confidently knowing this won’t affect the manufacturer’s warranty---they understand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Did about as well as I would have hoped.

I bought this expecting it to maybe last one year. With the amount of sun we get, I expected it to break down in a year's time. Purchased in Nov of 2021. It made it through 2 winters here in California, but was done this spring. Losing little pieces of the blue bubbles, and it tore finally.

That being said, it did what I needed it to do. It kept dirt out of the pool and kept perhaps a little more heat in during the colder months. It lasted as long as the original pool cover that we had, so I think it was worth it. There's not really other inexpensive replacement covers available for the steel frame vinyl above ground pools from Intex/Bestway etc., so this was as affordable and performed probably as well as anything else would have that I found that would fit our pool (trimmed this to fit an oval shape).

Just go into it with the right expectations. If you think this is going to last beyond 1-2 years, you need to reset your expectations.

thought i would let everyone know that this cover lasted almost 7 years in New England weather and i just replaced it with a competitor's blanket and i am already concerned about the flimsy-ness of the new blanket. wish i had purchased from Sun2Solar this time. Highly recommend

Do not waste your money on this garbage. I bought this 13 months ago and already have to throw it away because it’s disintegrating. I can’t even pull it out of the water now because the slightest pull and it rips or falls apart in your hand.

I’m not even going to bother with a warranty claim. I know how that’ll play out. It’ll be my fault because I didn’t maintain chemical balance, or I let it sit out in the sun, yada, yada, yada. Truth is, we haven’t had much rain this summer so it’s been the most perfectly balanced season I’ve had as far as chemicals. I store it properly, and during the winter it was stored in my basement the whole from winterizing to opening day. I’ve been a pool owner for 13 years. I know these things don’t last forever, but with proper care I’ve been able to stretch it for 3 years, the worst being 2 years. But to barely make it beyond a year…ridiculous.

Unless you’re approaching this as a one-and-done deal that you know is getting you through a short-term period then don’t waste your money. It may cost slightly more but I think next time I’m going with a local store. The warranty appears to be much better and I have a local source to deal with. Horrible. Just horrible.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice pool cover and warranty honored

This was the second cover I ordered for my pool. The first one lasted over a year and we took it off/on several times a week, so there was a lot of wear and tear on it. The cover kept the pool warm during the summer so I didn’t need to heat it, which saved money on the gas bill.

This second cover started to disintegrate after 3 months. The bubbles peeled off and hundreds of the particles were deposited into the pool. I attached pictures for reference. The first cover was very sturdy so we were surprised that this one was not the same good quality. I contacted the manufacturer and they asked us to send in pictures. After reviewing it, they honored the warranty and sent a replacement within a week. The new cover is holding up so far and we have high hopes for it. I would definitely purchase this again from this company, as they stand by their product.

We purchased this to cover the pool while we were away from January to March. When it arrived we were a bit sceptical about how effective it would be as the bubbles are only slightly bigger than those in bubble wrap (but the material is much hardier). We trimmed it to fit our kidney shaped pool and then rolled it up. It’s a two man job, but place the (massive and heavy) roll on one end of the pool, a person on either side grabs it, and you heave it across to the far end. It simple floated as we layed it out. I’d dumped a ton of chemicals in the pool and while the ambient temperature was chilly, the water stayed crystal clear and debris free. With no maintenance. Amazing. Our trip was extended til May and being in Texas the temperatures started climbing at the end of March. Warm weather and rain. Under a bubble cover which warmed the water even more. It became an incubator for algae. Gross. BUT that was our bad, the cover did its job. The only reason I mention it is if some of you folk in the parts of the US that are chillier than Texas would like a way to keep your pool water warmer, this will work great! I’ll put it back on when it’s too cold to swim (so that’ll be January, lol).

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great!

This is my first solar cover. I live in Virginia and my wife likes the pool water to be at least 86 degrees. We usually make that temperature but, not until mid-July. We put this cover on the pool last Sunday night (06/02/24). Monday morning, the temperature was 79. I decided to take the temperature every morning around 7:30 before the sun beat down upon the pool in order to get a true temperature. I left the cover on and on Saturday morning, five days later, the temperature was 87. Took the cover off to swim. Put it back on last night. This morning the temperature was 88. So, depending on how much direct sunlight you get on the pool, this thing works. I get approximately 7 hours of direct sunlight daily. I put it back on at the end of the day so there is very little heat loss at night. I also believe you will gain more heat using a clear cover. The sun’s rays can beat through the clear cover and the heat gets trapped under the cover. I cannot attest to the longevity of these covers. No matter what the brand is, most reviews complained about them lasting about two seasons before falling apart. All I know is that my water has never been this warm this early in the pool season. I bought a Vingli upgraded cover reel. It’s a bit of a pain to put together but, makes taking the cover off much easier than not having a reel. My clear cover is 12 mils thick. Anyway, hopes this review helps.
