5.0 out of 5 stars Overnight Under Plastic Works

The previous owner of our place installed a metal awning that was functionally sound, but when he painted the house neglected to use a tarp. The awning was covered in paint splatters, many thick, that had baked on over numerous summers. Even though outside I didn't want to handle a commercial grade super caustic stripper. Yes, they work faster, but I like to stay away from strong, fumy chemicals. ("Fumy" is a valid Scrabble word btw.)
So I applied this stuff, and covered with a cheap plastic painting tarp overnight...like the directions mention. Next day, voila, the paint splatters scraped off like a hot knife through butter. Applied a fresh coat of paint and the awning looks like new.

Remodeling an aluminum trailer from the 60s and the paint layers were thick!!! I left on for about an hour and most of it peeled right off!! I had to do a few coats but there were more than 5 layers in some spots. On the last few remaining small spots I did use steel wool. Works sooo much better compared to the klean strip I was using before. Definitely has made my job a lot easier

4.0 out of 5 stars If I have to use a stripper, this is the one.

I really don't like stripping paint/varnish, but if I HAVE to do it, I think this is a decent product..the best I've used. I do like the spray better because it's quicker to apply, but not as good price-wise.

I do what all the youtubers do and cover with saran wrap after applying to let it sit and do its magic. Depending on how much it looks like it's working, I leave it on for a 1/2 hour to 24 hours. Word of advice when leaving it on longer periods of time - liberally apply it so it doesn't accidentally dry under the saran wrap. I use scotch bright pads and mineral spirits to remove. Also, if you know how to properly use a carbide scraper, that helped me immensely with removal this time around.

I like this product and is what I would recommend for a stripper.

I like that the fumes are less than other strippers. Doesn't seem as hazardous. I'm not a fan of the orange b/c I feel like it sometimes seeps in areas of the wood and it's difficult to get out...but I sand after anyway.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not a smelly paint stripper!

Easy to use even on a vertical surface, no nasty smell nor eye-watering off-gassing. Removes paint cleanly, just don't expect it to work too fast. Some patches of my old painted door took 3 rounds of application to fully remove the 3 coats of paint. Best applied using a brush and scraped off with plastic scraper (to avoid gouging the timber)

I’m not a DIY person and was skeptical when I ordered. I was shocked how easy this made stripping the paint from my stairs.
5 stars isn’t enough!

3.0 out of 5 stars Buy the spray for detailed pieces

This doesn't seem to remove spray paint as effectively as the spray can version of the same product, and is easier to apply.

I bought this jug believing it to be better value, but the extra time spent trying to reach crevices with a paint brush coupled with a seemingly slower and less effective action means I'll be paying a little more for the spray next time.

Also be aware that any finished ferrous metals - nitrided, parkerized or blued - like fastener heads will be affected by this and will begin to rust if you don't oil or refinish them immediately after.

Easy to apply. Then cover in plastic. The next day paint just scrapes off. Not a strong odor and much less noxious then turpentine. Used on wood and metal. Worked great on both

I had ancient painted over ac wall grates that needed stripping. Product worked great, no smell, and grates look new! Wear gloves, keep most of work outside if you can---and proceed!
