Describe as it shows and the battery is the exact size of the original battery and the new battery was charged enough where it didn’t take long to fully charge it and so far working like a charm. Not bad for the price and it even comes with tools which I didn’t realize until I dug through the box, so two batteries and a screw driver and a plastic wedge to help opening it up easier.
Very pleased with my purchase.

These new batteries are great for old PS3 controllers that would not hold a charge any more, or for very long. My controllers were well over 10 years old and these babies are great. Been in for about 2 months and we can play for hours wirelessly again. It was tricky replacing them, not because of the batteries, but because of how the controllers were constructed to begin with, so if you are a novice with electronics watch some videos on the process, there are several different controller models. These batteries will work in whatever model, as the 2 that I did were different models.

The hardest part that I ran into was actually reassembling the controllers. Making sure the R1s and L1, etc were positioned correctly when putting the top and bottom pieces back together. The actual battery swap out is super easy, and even the disassembly is pretty straightforward, but that reassembly can be tricky and frustrating at times. But all in all good batteries.

I hooked up my PS3 after years of not being use and found out the controller batteries were toast. Found these replacement batteries on Amazon, they were easy to replace and just what I needed. The tools that come with these are useless but it nice the kit comes with a charger cord.

Wonderful, good for the price fix for you PS3 controllers. I was so sad when the battery gave out in my controller, the controller I used for years as a kid. It brings me great joy to be able to use it again.

And yes, there are no clamps on the battery. But the casing is tight enough that there won't be any rattling of the battery while you use it. Unsure of the battery life yet, but it works!

I have 3 Dualshock 3 controllers so I figured I would order 2 batteries first and see how it goes, then order 2 more to do the remaining one and have one spare. This is what I ended up doing since the first two went in and they fit and seem to work just fine. They appear to have a full charge and the controllers work as they should. I don't know how long they will last before dying but they are way better than the original batteries that they replaced, which would only work for a few minutes before dying. I had to keep them plugged in in order to use them.
Also when you have your controller apart, use it as an excuse to clean the ribbon cable contacts and any other grime from the innards,especially if you have issues with the buttons 'pressing themselves' and making your on screen menu go crazy (Like mine were!). The two controllers I've done thus far now work perfectly again. Spending a bit extra time doing some cleaning with Q-tips and Isopropyl alcohol will be worth it.
There are videos on youtube that will help if needed.

These were fairly straightforward to replace, but keep in mind that you might have one of three different styles of Dualshock. Two of mine were the same battery as this replacement and was a perfect fit, but two others required some finagling to get to not give me pause that the battery would be rubbing on the circuit board.

However, I just stuck on a few small squares of squishy rubber "non slip" padding that I had around on the battery facing the circuit board and it went perfect.

You'll know if I recommend this for the controller you have if you open it up and the battery has tabs that connect to the circuit board. Just search foam non slip pad and you'll find the right stuff. Pay attention to the solder points on the circuit board and you'll know where to put the 1/4 inch squares you cut from the pad to keep it away from the metal points.

They check out as close to the stated capacity, mine tested at 1688, 1750 mAh, which is 94-97%.

Definitely worth it if you love your PS3. BUT grab some q tips and cotton with some rubbing alcohol for when you take your controllers apart, you'll want to clean the seams lol.

Just what I needed to bring new life to my old PS3 controllers. Larger battery size should mean longer time between recharging and fits in controller with no mods.

I was thrilled when I got this, I was bored with the new games and wanted to re-visit some old PS3 games. I had connected my PS3 and bummer, the batteries on the controller would not hold.. so i got into Amazon and got several of these, initial installation was difficult at first because of the springs for the R's and L's, after messing around, got the hang of it and the others were a breezy to instal. Played for a while and all was golden.

8 months later and I tried to turn on the PS3 and I was like, oh my, have not charged them.. tried one (connecting direct to the PS3) and nothing, tried the other nothing, let one overnight connected to the PS3 and another on a power bank, nothing, they stopped working only after 8 months!

not sure if I got defected ones, or if I needed to keep them charged at all time, but either way, this is that happened to me. hopefully some people have better luck, I would not recommend these.
