5.0 out of 5 stars I Got a Good One!

You can read about the fact that this is an excellent mic. I'm impressed that the mic came well packaged, with all the accessories and without a scratch -- it looks and works like new. So long as you test it within the return window, I think it's well worth the risk of buying renewed.

I purchased this mic as an Amazon "renewed item" and I was delighted when I got it... in the original box, with a wind screen, black pouch, all original paperwork (specs, etc.)... all in tacked. Not a single scratch or sign of wear on the mic. Hooked it up right away and it worked like a charm. Note: there is a noticeble increase in gain (about 25% louder than my Sennheiser 416 Which I don't see as a problem).

I bought this mic just so that I would not have to take the more expensive S-416 on the road with me. I'm amazed that the sound is so close to the 416! I had heard from online reviews that it was and it did not disappoint.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great mics

I got these to use a ambient mics for our IEM setup and a bonus to record them during live peformances to pick up the audience. The background rejection is really good, mics seem very solid and sound great. They would likely be great for any number of uses any smaller shotgun mic would fit. If you need smaller shotgun mic these are great!

Great size for Med sized camcorders. Quality is hood, esp indoors. Haven’t determined pickup distance-range. As manny reviews, I find this a high quality shotgun for much better price than other popular brands. Comes with windscreen

5.0 out of 5 stars A value? NO! A SUPER Value!!
Reviewed in the United States on March 30, 2024
These AT875R mics have no business being this good. Certainly not at this price! It's just a shade warmer than the Sennheiser 416p48, only 2/3 the length and a third the weight. And less than 1/5 the price... Even with a shorter tube its background rejection is superb and goes head to head with the mighty 416 at 4 and 6 feet.

Sets up real good on small video rigs and in voiceover studios.
