Well I bought e refurbished console thinking it be better than a used one and rival a new one at a lower price...worked fine until 2weeks ago when cooling fan failed and now console won't stay on, which is fine because safety routine working to protect console. I got almost 1.5 yr out of it before issue with fan. By comparison my 360 sat idle same amt of time and fired up, had it almost 10 yes only issue w it is a dirty laser lens in CD drive. No mechanical issues from 360elite in 10yrs. I know the 1 is better and more capable, but seems like its not as durable. For all the tech and safe guards built in its down due to a faulty fan, that made noise from day one of ownership. So I advise you research carefully, not a knock on Amazon or partners, but units go bad and sometimes the refurbs aren't overhauled and checked fully. You never know until you get it so my advice is due some research new vs used vs refurbished. I bought console for $282 refurbished 500gb, the fan and tools run $28, power block $37(thought that was issue), then bought a used 1tb w gm bundle for $224(before I realized 500gb was overheating) to replace my 500gb console that I thought I lost to drive failure. I'll keep old one after I refurbish it again but point is if you get a warranty take it, Microsoft call agents aren't much help as they read a scripted routine and reset console attempts don't fix all problems. Don't get me wrong I love the consoles graphics and capabilities just wish Microsoft put more effort into quality parts instead of rushing to market to make huge profits at holiday season.

Sooooo not only did I have to wait an extra 5 days to get it because the tracking info was wrong but it finally got here today. I open it up out of a brown box , was thinking it was gonna be in the original green box like they portray it. I take it out and there are scratches everywhere on the console on the adapter only thing that was fine was HDMI cord. I plug it in an get as far as creating a new email and it shuts off….in attempts to reboot it several times and also unplug it and plugging it back in after waiting a little it just got worse. Now the thing won’t even turn on. I let it chill out for a little bit again. I plugged it back in AGAIN and go to turn it on and it’s making the beep sounds when you turn it on but no white light behind the Xbox logo. Now my TV won’t even recognize if it’s on or off. Honestly screw these ppl and I just called to return it and the operator at Amazon basically told me that the seller will get back to you at their convenience and I won’t have a refund until X amount of days. Awesome. So glad they sent me a complete faulted system. Not even 30 min out of the box and I was experiencing problems. I was pretty hype about this and now I have to wait and wait some more for A new Xbox and learned my lesson never to buy refurbished products off here AND DEFINITELY NOT FROM THESE DUDES.

The first 2 consoles they send didn't work, but they quickly resolved the issue. I've had this third console for months now with no issues whatsoever.

Should you get a refurbished Xbox One?

the xbox one came in a refurbished certified box from microsoft. seemed really professional. came with everything it says, including the headset which was awesome. its the old generation controller but that doesnt matter to me. the xbox has no problems running at all. only things that are wrong is its sometimes laggy, but thats because of the low performance hardware it has. the fan when really hot seems to squeak too. but this has only happened once so far. other than that its been perfect. everything i expected and hoped. i mainly only use it for black ops 3 and forza because i have a pc that runs games much better than the xbox. higher resolutions and frame rates. so theyre few games id get on xbox rather than pc. but i still love the xbox for the quick changing of apps and games. i can go from playing xbox to instantly watching Netflix or hulu. i like that a lot. its just more convienant to use an xbox than a pc because of it all being on a controller. but i still love my pc because i use it on my 55 inch smart tv and it plays games beautifully. the xbox plays games great too, but not at the highest capability of a pc. overall tho, i love my xbox one. even if its refurbished :)

I was very please with how quickly I received my order! I ordered it, and within three days I had it at my house! It has worked perfectly, and I love it! My only complaint is that I can't really play anything on it because any game you want to play has to be installed (30-40 minutes) and then an update has to be downloaded (and with my internet that can take anywhere from 8-20 hours). My internet is not good, and there's no option for an upgrade so my console sits there downloading a game for days.

UPDATED:
I wrote an earlier review about the good, now I'm writing about the bad. This unit started running slow. How slow? I'm typing this review while waiting for the settings screen to come up. That's how slow. Constant error messages of this screen/feature took too long to load etc... I'm having to do a factory reset today just to get it back to working. That means all the save info will be lost. I'd have to say this is not a good deal. In fact it's a terrible deal if they are all like this one!

This product is listed as refurbished! I can't tell you what they did but it looks brand new. Not a scratch, still had all the plastic packing cover that you have to remove. It works perfectly. It took a long time to download the updates but that's not a fault because I was downloading on election day so it was the internet that was the problem. I will say that coming from PlayStation3 this is a huge improvement! I wish now I'd gone with XBox from the beginning. I play an older game that has digital add-ons. The one for XBox has more content and better features. Add to that the backward compatibility and this is a much better deal. I have to say based on my whole experience that if I buy the next XBox, I'll jump at the chance to get a refurbished from this seller as it is the same as new and less expensive!
