I bought this after seeing my friend's kid with it during playdate. First, the drum has 2 tones and an ongoing beat when it turns on its side. There is no annoying music or nonstop looping. Also, there is enough sound differentiation that it entertained my baby without being overstimulating (no strobe effects). My husband and I are both musicians and love how the toy is educational without encouraging noise pollution.
This is a good toy for children around 1yo but my 2.5yo still plays with it.
