5.0 out of 5 stars Can finally sleep! First time mom must have

I love this sock! Being a first time mom and having my baby come home from the nicu made me extremely anxious! Given certain circumstances, I decided having an owlet sock would benefit my peace of mind and the safety of my baby. I can see his oxygen saturation and pulse rate, am notified if the sock is misplaced, low oxygen or too high/low pulse rate. I’ve found that I haven’t woken up jumpy or scared that I left him too long without checking and the plus is I can also see his sleep session/time with wake windows and deep sleep highlighted along with his vital readings. There’s 2 sock sizes, 2 for each foot and it’s very simple to wrap and put on, setting up the device and base was tricky, took a few attempts to connect the WiFi but it worked after 5 tries. I say it’s worth the price and eases any anxiety!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great, app not so much.

We love our Owlet. It’s been great having the comfort it provides. Our issue is the app. It’s laggy and doesn’t load half the time. Alerts are loud and helpful. Would recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love my Owlet!
Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2024
Before I bought the Owlet, I was awake every night, constantly checking on my baby to make sure he was still breathing. I just couldn’t relax and was always worried. Then I found the Owlet, and let me tell you—it’s been a total game-changer! For the first time since his birth, I was able to get 2-3 hours of solid sleep between feedings. It has truly been a lifesaver!

I’ve had the Owlet for 7 months now, and it works perfectly. The setup did take me a little longer than expected, but that’s totally okay. It’s worth the extra time.

I also want to highly recommend the seller.I reached out about something, and they responded immediately and took care of it right away.. One very happy customer here!

As first-time parents, we purchased the Owlet for peace of mind. However, we've run into so many issues with its basic functionality that I have zero confidence it would actually alert us to a problem if our son stopped breathing.

The problems began immediately during initial setup: no matter how many times I tried, my iPhone could not successfully complete the base station WiFi setup process. It kept failing without providing any kind of useful error message to explain why. The troubleshooting steps on Owlet's website are useless. Fortunately, it eventually worked using my wife's iPhone.

Over the past 3 months, we've put the Owlet on our son every night. Despite following the directions and correctly placing it on his foot, it has alerted and woken us up dozens of times for failing to collect readings. Most of the time, our son is just wiggling a normal amount for an infant. Rocking him to sleep also sets it off.

If either of us forgets to take the Owlet off before taking him out of the bedroom, it also alerts because the signal between the sock and the base station can't even penetrate through one wall. If you take the sock more than ~15 feet from the base station, the alarm goes off. My wife and I have each woken each other up forgetting to take the Owlet off before taking our son out of the room for a night feeding. This is an unreasonably short range for a wireless device in the year 2024.

What I've described above is the Owlet's functionality that works *best*. The iPhone app almost never works. Even when he's wearing the sock and the base station is glowing green, the app 90% of the time says that either the base station is not connected to the WiFi, or there is no sleep session going on. Want to know when your kid is in light sleep so you can wake them for a feed? Forget about it.

Another time, the app showed that our son's O2 level was as low as 80% during the previous night's sleep session, which, if accurate, is a life-threatening emergency. The Owlet was silent. Our son is fine and I'm skeptical that the reading was correct, but if the Owlet thought his O2 was that low, the alarm should have been blaring, and we should have been calling an ambulance.

To summarize: the Owlet will alert you when there is no problem, and it will stay silent when there could be a life-threatening emergency. The app fails more often than it works. Spend your $300 on something else. I wish we had.

5.0 out of 5 stars First night home with new baby worked fine. Provided breathing, pulse, sleep and movement all night.

My nephew and his wife's first baby had problems breathing so was airlifted to another hospital for intensive care. When they were released to take their home for the first time, I ordered this Baby Monitor because it was rated the highest AND Amazon said it would be delivered the next morning before 11am. When it didn't, I started a "Chat" with Amazon and explained the importance of having the monitor so the parents would know immediately is their baby was not breathing properly. After another problem with the Amazon Chat person that appeared to be a scammer getting access to my credit card and charging me a fee to validate my credit card, Amazon expediated the Baby Monitor and it was delivered that night, so the new parents had the monitor the first night after all. When delivery times are critical, don't assume anything. Track your product and make sure no one drops the ball. I contacted Amazon, told them the critical situation and they delivered by 9pm that first night. Thank you to Amazon.

LOVE the owlet dream sock. I have used for 2 of my children and the peace of mind it gives is priceless. My daughter recently had RSV and this allowed us to monitor her O2 as well as her symptoms to avoid a hospital stay. HIGHLY recommend. 4 stars because it had a few days where it had disconnecting from the base station. This caused such a headache when baby was asleep and we had to figure out the issue. Customer service was quick to send another sensor thankfully! It is absolutely worth it

I enjoyed the peace of mind that came with using this sock. Knowing my newborn was being monitored gave me peace of mind to be able to sleep easier. Fits well, I was happy it came with 2 socks at this price. There was the occasional “fit issue” if baby laid a certain way. Also, it does not have a great range so anytime you take baby to a different room there’s a good chance it’ll notify. Just a note, if you have a newer router that has a 5 GHz option you will have very frequent connection issues.
