We live in an older home with no range hood and we desperately needed a solution, since hard writing wasn't an option and we have no cabinets above our range! Thank goodness for the AirHood providing much needed ventilation and air circulation when cooking. We love it! Fair warning, it's loud, but that just reminds me that it's helping clear the air. My room air filter no longer goes red when I'm cooking and running the AirHood.

I really like the look and the way the front and back covers are magnetically attached. It’s very easy to open it to change the filter and clean it. I also like the way the power cord can be tucked away into its own base. It looks good on the countertop. I use it additionally to our over the range microwave vent. By itself it’s not very powerful but it’s enough for me. However, my one complaint is that it’s really loud. Sometimes I get a noise warning from my Apple Watch because it’s too loud.

This does NOT clear the smoke and vapors from the cooktop unless you hold it directly over the pan.
DO NOT HOLD IT OVER THE PAN. THAT IS DANGEROUS.
Sorry for the over the top warning. But this product did NOTHING because the suction was poor. It has suction, but even though I was cooking two small 3/4" pork chops at medium high heat, and though the amount of smoke and gases were fairly minimal, the kitchen and hallway still filled with enough smoke to set off the smoke alarm. When I tilted the unit over the pan a bit and got within an inch or two of the rim of the pan, it was able to capture some of the gas and smoke. But not enough to prevent the alarm from sounding again. And the amount of smoke produced was far less than one would get if one used cast iron for a steak. I used hex-clad, avocado oil (has a high burn temp point), and seared for 3 min on each side. I spent nearly all that time trying to get the fan in a position where it would capture the smoke/fumes/gas. Waste of time and effort.

I wish I'd listened to the other reviewers who basically said the same thing - that it doesn't work. I returned it. It's basically a toyish type of device. Just say NO.

My cooktop doesn't have a vent hood. I saw this & thought it was worth a try. It does a good job of removing smoke, odor, & oil.

For the size, this is a great product. It works better than the built in hood that’s in my apartment and it’s definitely more attractive. It’s a little noisy, but that’s ok since it’s doing its job.
