Video Pad is an excellent app that does what it advertises. This app is easy to use and has a lot of functionality. I was able to edit a Go Pro video taken from my drone in 40 minutes or so, I had no experience with the app but was easy to figure out.
I would recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive and easy to use app.

No Windows PC code as advertised :(
Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2017
This is really bad... Why do I get only a MAC activation code when the ad is for PC-MAC. Please fix this as I now have a double charge on this item.
:(
and I cannot use either (of the two!) MAC activation codes on either copy! :(
Please send me the PC activation code and refund for the second copy or a refund for both as I cannot use either. Thanks!

THIS PROGRAM ROCKS!
Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2024
This program doesn't have a steep learning curve and is ready to use within 10 minutes of loading it!
I am using a MAC version. With all due respect, PCs don't work well with video or graphics. So if you are a basic Editor use a MAC with this program. You won't regret it!

Routinely fails to export hours of work
Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2023
If you need something quick and dirty to export a video file you're not going to edit, this might work for you. If you're planning on spending hours carefully editing a video, and don't fancy having all that time and effort wasted because the software simply refuses to export the video for no well-explained or defensible reason... look elsewhere. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and there is absolutely nothing you can do to know which beforehand--or to do anything other than start over from raw captures. The error:
"Failed: the video source does not meet the requirements for lossless export"
Except there's nothing wrong with the source video, it's exporting with the exact same encoding as the source clips, and the same clips will work just fine in other software. Search Google for this and you'll find a vast number of users who've had their time wasted in this way with no solution.
Avoid.

Been using this for 3 years - HORRIFIC
Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2022
First of all, I was tricked into buying this. I was trying to download Shotcut, a program recommended to me, but I accidentally got this one instead. (Not an accident really - the download site was set up to deliberately reroute consumers to this program.) I tried it, learned to use it, and ended up buying it because it was the path of least resistance.
My first major problem was that this is a memory hog. It uses as much as 30 - 40 gb to process a single 30-minute video, and then doesn't automatically clear the cache when it's done. It took me days to figure out why all my hard drive space had disappeared - it was being eaten alive by this program. In order to clear the cache, you have to go into Tools, then Options, then Clear Cache, then Okay. Not at all intuitive - and you have to that every time you finish editing a video.
Next problem to surface was that it takes upwards of FOUR HOURS to compile a 30-minute video if that video contains a lot of still images - perhaps 30 images or more. The program begins compiling for 2 or 3 minutes, then takes a 10-minute break, then goes back to work. I have a 30-minute video compiling right now that I started over 3 hours ago, and it's only 80% compiled. It will be over four hours before it's finished.
I think the people who have given this program a good rating simply haven't used it long enough to uncover the problems. I, too, thought it was okay at first. But I have replaced it with another program - open source, so it's free - and I will be thrilled when I can finally dump this piece of crap.

Great Value, Function, Customer Support, and Selection - Most Apps work on Mac
Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2023
VALUE.
The value of something is the price you are willing to pay for it. At less than $100 you won't find a better video editor / creator application. If there's something you want, they probably have software for it at far more affordable prices than the tech giants.
FUNCTION.
I'm no videographer and I video editing is not my primary skillset. VideoPad Editor makes it easy. The interface is simple, things do what they are named, and the help function is great. You can jump right in and use it immediately without being a professional. In contrast, I have used Garage Band for Mac to try to make and edit videos. The interfaces are overwhelming and without being a sound engineer the learning curve was steep. I found VideoPad to "just make sense" when I was poking around looking for a feature.
Great Customer Support.
I've contacted them for help a few different times. Once it was because I found out that after I bundled a few applications to take advantage of the discount, that one of them was not available for my Mac Book Pro (MBP). They immediately solved my challenge by telling me about a different application they had that not only could replace the one I wanted but also combined features of one of the others I had purchased. They kindly managed all the refunds, license re-issuing, and walked me through everything. They ended up saving me money and getting me more functionality.
NCH Selection in Interoperability
While not every application they make that works on my Windows machine will work on my MBP, they usually can offer a solution for what I need by getting two apps that will work together. I currently have Debut, Doxillion, Express Accounts (for managing my business), Pixillion, Prism, Switch, VideoPad, and Voxal.
Reliability.
I have seen some of the reviews stating that there's a challenge with exporting videos sometimes. I have not experienced this personally, but I have had a challenge before that I could not figure out. I contacted customer service, and they worked with me to figure it out. Although, we didn't solve it in that call, they did make a support ticket and we did get it resolved. Other than that small glitch, my experience has been that it is highly reliable and works well.
