Alpha’s like us was a much-awaited book that I loved and devoured without putting it down. It’s an emotional, crazy ride that will solidify Moffy and Farrow’s relationship and make them truly realize how right they are for each other. They are both so passionate about each other, so protective and caring as well… it’s something we can see clearly about this couple even if they are struggling. They are also stubborn, incredibly sarcastic and madly in love… They are perfect.
In Alpha’s like us both Moffy and Farrow are struggling with their future. Farrow is unsure if he wants to go back and be a doctor because he misses that part of him and Moffy lost his place at his charity and now needs to find his “purpose” in life. Both are trying to find their place in life whilst supporting the other. I loved seeing them slowly finding their way and finding new things to love whilst taking the relationship to the next level *If you know what I mean* *Wedding bells*
Even though this book is a turbulent ride it still has amazing, beautiful moments that deserve recognition. This story has an unbelievable sense of family, loyalty and love that’s nothing short of incredible. I could feel that whilst reading, either with just Moffy and Farrow but with Jane, Beckett, Luna, Xander, Ben, Charlie, Sulli… all of them. The parents too. Their story carries on here. We get a glimpse at their life to see how they’re doing and bond with them even more.
I am in love with Jane and Sullivan, and the bodyguards as well. I need these girls In my life and a book just for them as well! Which we will get! Yay! Their relationship with the bodyguards is very rocky, more than I wanted, so I need another book to put things back as they were. They are all in love, but no one wants to admit it! I’m desperate!
Anyway, this was a beautiful book. The writing is always exceptional, the story is catching and addictive, the characters super well written, well developed and so interesting. I couldn’t put this book down. I loved seeing the Hale’s, The Cobalt’s and the Meadow’s once again to see how they were and was happy to see them well and thriving as always. I cannot wait for the next part of their life’s.
"And hell, if anything feels right, it's him and me. We're better than good together. Better than perfect."
Every time I think Krsita and Becca Ritchie can't do any better, they prove me wrong. The third book in the Like Us series was better than perfect. It's what we've been all waiting for, and more.
The book starts with a bang, and ends in a completely different way: the ending is peaceful, and serene, and everything feels so complete. Just like the path of Maximoff and Farrow's relationship. It all began with a boom, and it ends with a HEA. Just like in the first two books, many twists and turns and unexpected happenings put their relationship through trials and tribulations, but unlike the first two books, their relationship feels more solid and impenetrable now. The love they feel for each other is almost palpable, so real and pure. These guys have made my heart burst with happiness, it seemed at times.
"I drink in the way he's staring at me. As though I'm the only man on Earth, the only person he'd ever choose in the beginning and the end."
It's amazing the growth we see in Farrow and Maximoff in this book as well as in the first two. We see their love grows with every new page, their confidence in themselves and each other growing as well. They let go of many fears, and work towards reaching that peaceful stage of their relationship, where they feel completely comfortable with each other. Krista and Becca Ritchie describe their path in the rawest, strikingly and achingly beautiful way. It's utterly real and relatable, their love for each other so obvious and heartwarming.
I can't think of any other fictional world that pulled me in as hard, fast, and as completely as Like Us universe. It's one of the biggest, too, but the way it was portrayed made everything clear, every character easy to place. All of the characters intrigue me so much, and I can't express how big my happiness is knowing we'll get to read more books set in the Like Us universe. And although my heart wept with joy at the ending of Alphas Like Us I can say I was absolutely thrilled to find out there'll be another Marrow book!
I'm completely in love with the book, the main characters, and the huge 'supporting cast'. It's the third book, the ending of only one chapter in what I hope will be a series with lots of books, a series in which every character will be lucky enough to experience their own HEA, and that we'll get to experience that alongside them.
I must urge you all to read this book. It's imperative though that you read the first two books in the series first. (I really hope you do!) This review might feel all-over-the-place, and for that I must be forgiven: goodbye's (even temporary ones) make me sentimental. One thing I know - I can't wait for the next chance to dive in and get myself lost in the Like Us universe!
There was a few things though that kept me from giving 5 stars. I don't want to spoil so I'll just say there was some things about Farrow that I felt went against what the first two books told us about him and his personality. I wasn't a fan of that and some things felt a little forced. There is a new character introduced that I thought had zero purpose and didn't think added anything to narrative.
However, this is still a great read and I would definitely recommend it.
