Nice looking fan and it works well.

I had professionals install this for me and it looks great. I like the 4 speeds and a little loud, but no more that what we had before. The only down side to this is the gesture feature does not always work. When we plugged it in it worked for the first few times and it does not always work. Since it appears to work at random, I am guess this is just a bit of a bug. However, we do not really use it anyway and mostly use the remote. You have to be pretty close, but I love not having to touch any buttons. Overall, I really like that it is flush and does not stick out from the cabinet at all.

Beautiful and well-made range hood

Purchased the iKTCH 30 inch range hood for a kitchen remodel. I was impressed with the quality and the finishes on this insert. It is much quieter and feature packed than my previous vent fan.

The gesture control for the fan speed, and the variable lighting control are really nice features of this vent insert. However, they do take a little practice to figure out exactly how to work with them. A handheld remote control is also included that can be another nice feature. However, Better user instructions would be helpful for all.

The manufacturer should improve the current documentation. A more detailed user manual and installation guide would be very helpful to customers and the DYI-ers who are installing this fan.

But overall, I think this is a great unit and will work well for my application.

Excellent support

We are happy with the range hood. It's quite powerful and has cool features including remote control and hand gesture control. It would have rated 5 stars but the gesture control after working for a time has since failed. However I contacted support and corresponded with Jesse at IKTCH support. He listened to my description of the problem. He made some inquiries to enable further analysis and has determined that the control panel requires replacement. He has one in transit to me a long with instructions on how to change it. I couldn't ask for a better response.

Somewhat broken, but works

Update: I've had the fan for about three months. I finally got the hang of the gesture controls:

-wave left to right for light on and fan speed 1 OR wave right to left for fan speed 4 and no light.

They do work most of the time and I have actually enjoyed this feature more than I thought. The fan still blows wonderfully. Overall, a very happy buyer.

I had the same issue as another reviewer regarding the blower mounts missing screws. The screws, washers, and nuts were rattling in the unit when I took it out of the box, and I assumed someone just dropped them during assembly. It wasn't until the following day when the blower sounded awful (hitting it several times didn't help) that I realized those screws went to the mount. It seems someone at their factory is forgetting to torque all the screws upon completion.

Despite this, the fan is very powerful and works great. Installation was straightforward and the manual helped. Once the motor is PROPERLY mounted, it is also very quiet even on High (speed 4). The gesture control doesn't work consistently for me and I will not be using it. The inclusion of a remote is quite odd to me, and the button functions are not inherently obvious, but I suppose it is preferable for some people. For the price and overall aesthetics, I am fairly happy now that it's installed.

This hood vent looks but it was difficult to install, it is loud, doesn't have very good suction, and the remote and the on device controls are difficult to get to operate. It looks great but that is all it has going for it. I would not recommend this hood vent.

Strong, nice features, easy to use

I’ve installed an iktch before and unfortunately I burned up the circuit board with a power issue. Luckily the owner of the company was extremely helpful and attentive, and directed me to the correct part to replace on his sellers page. It was easy to replace and overall very happy with the last one. This one is of equal quality if not better and looks very sleek! I haven’t installed it yet in my next project but I will update later with photos of it installed. I plugged it in as you can see in the video and everything was working well, definitely a 900 cfm fan it was pretty strong. Looks like it will be easy to wipe off and keep clean, easier than stainless steel for sure. It has a remote which is a nice touch and the hand gestures are cool too. I mostly find myself using the touch buttons but if your hands are dirty with food or whatever the hand gestures are nice as well!

I had to order it twice because the first fan never arrived and I was on a contruction deadline. My contractor had a heck of a time installing it. I still have not figured out how to use it. The remote (strange) works sometimes and not other times. There were difficult to remove stickers on it that served no apparent purpose. It is noisy! The lights are good. It is attractive.
