First, wow…I’ve been anticipating Tyson’s story since I started The Ritual and it does NOT disappoint! ???????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????? ???????? ???????? ???? ???????????????????????????????????? ???????????? ???? ???????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????? ???????????? ????.????.????.????.????. ???????????????????????? ????????????????????????! As I’ve said in my earlier reviews, I’m kicking myself for not reading this sooner. ????????♀️
Tyson Riley Crawford ????????????…completely u̴ ̴n̴ ̴h̴ ̴i̴ ̴n̴ ̴g̴ ̴e̴ ̴d̴, morally grey, over-the-top, possessive/obsessed …hot, twisted, brilliant...you get the idea! And I’m so here for it! And ɦօʟʏ ɦɛʟʟ can he play the long game!!! Talk about a man with a plan ???? Tessier does a PHENOMENAL job developing Tyson’s character from a borderline and potentially unlikeable villain into a very compelling and gripping lead MMC while weaving a storyline that I really didn’t see coming. For almost the entire first half of the book, I wasn’t sure I was going to like him…he’s almost an entitled bully and it’s not clear why he’s taking his revenge out on the innocent FMC. And sure it was super spicy start to finish, but initially I was starting to question why so many readers loved this book or if Laikyn would ever grow a set and get her life together. I literally wanted to punch him in the throat in the beginning but that man certainly delivers!
This book had me gasping as the secrets kept unfolding…the plot twists y’all... I DID NOT SEE IT COMING! Just when i thought I had it figured out, another curveball comes out of left field to rip another one wide open! I found myself on the edge of my seat trying to figure it all out, frustrated, shocked, sometimes even wanting to yell at the characters to figure it out! Sometimes revenge plots are boringly predictable but this book definitely is not! And the SUSPENSE! Gah! So masterfully well done. I swear, each chapter would introduce something new, making you sprint through to try to figure out the next twist and BOOM ????, here comes something new!
I absolutely LOVE that all of my favorite characters from the first two books continue through this book. Ryat (who is my other personal fave) is Tyson’s best friend so he appears a lot, but Sin and Ellie and the Spade brothers show up quite a bit which keeps the story a little more believable in my opinion. What starts out as revenge takes awhile to unfold but the wait is so worth the reveal! The main character dynamic is insanely intense, filed with angst and turmoil that makes you want to shake them to get it together but keeps you hooked while they develop deep feelings, unravel years-long secrets, and keep you gasping for more until the very end. This book isn't for the faint of heart (for reals, read the trigger warnings!) but it’s so worth the ride!
This is Tessier’s twistiest and tightest storyline so far in my opinion. It really unravels some crazy and introduces some more to unravel again. The epilogue in each book is also fabulous (I want those stories of the next generation!) Writing is on point and character development is fabulous. This author just keeps on giving - she’s an automatic purchase for me moving forward! I really loved the plot but holy hotness can we just talk about that spice though?! ????️????️????️????️????️ I won’t lie, there may be some things that had me questioning what I was reading but the kink and smut and creativity, y’all! WHEW! So imaginative, explicit, and hot AF! ???????????? It’s the icing on this crazy cake! Can’t wait for the next book - gimme more (and bring me some more on the Spade brothers! I bet that book will be WILD!) I’m
