After you open a bottle of wine, it goes bad within a week. I have used this product on wine that has lasted months.

I like wine, but I like to enjoy the occasional glass here and there. Since I like reds and my wife likes whites or blushes, that means I often times had to open 2 bottles that neither of us would finish and we'd mostly toss - super wasteful and hard to swallow cost wise at the end of the day.

Thanks to the coravin it's no longer an issue. I've been nursing the same 2016 primitivo for 3 months now and every glass has been as good as the original one.

The only downside is the cartridges are a bit expensive so I wouldn't bother if all your drinking is 2 buck chuck or youre having a party where the majority of the bottle is going to go quickly. I've found (for me) the trade off is in the $15+ a bottle range but your milage may vary.

If you have some special bottles or you just don't drink that fast this definitely is worth the money. I've been able to buy more expensive wine than I'd normally be willing since I'd end up wasting them, but now I get to enjoy them!

I typically keep 40-50 bottles of wine on hand, some stored in a wine refrigerator, that I replenish occasionally.
I only drink a glass of wine at a time, usually on weekends, and my wife drinks even less. My sons rarely have wine when they visit on weekends.
This meant I'd buy nice wines, open a bottle, but then end up pouring it out after a week. It got to the point where I almost stopped drinking wine at home because so much of it went to waste.

Everything changed once I started using Coravin. Now, I can take any bottle, enjoy a glass, and that same bottle can be enjoyed for months later. I'm absolutely thrilled!

Additional notes after finishing the first Coravin capsule:

The capsule lasted longer than expected, preserving about five 750ml bottles before needing a change.
I avoided using the capsule for the last bit of wine (around 150ml) to maximize its lifespan.

Tip: When changing the capsule, remove the device from the bottle first to avoid accidentally introducing air into the bottle. Replace the capsule and re-insert the device for continued use.

WARNING YOU CAN NOT RETURN THIS ITEM AND IT WILL NOT WORK. When you press the trigger to let the gas into the bottle the wine will not come out, you have to estimate how much wine you will need based on how long you press the button after you let go wine sprays everywhere. Total garbage. Decided to drink the whole bottle each time I used this because of the stress.

I bought this as a gift for my mom. We shared some wine with it and it was lovely. Overall the product is great and works as described. The aerating attachment is excellent for red wines. My only complaint is that it could use slightly more detailed instructions for operation.
