I was looking into a fitness tracker when I stumbled across the "Amazon Refreshed" Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. I never wanted a smart watch, but I did want a way to track heart rate, steps, and my workouts. For the price of the refreshed option and the comfort of knowing I could return it if it wasn't as expected, I figured, why not give it a try? I'm a Galaxy girl and have all Samsung devices so it fits right in.

First, the watch shipped without original packaging - there were a couple comments that said they received all the original packaging so I was initially a little bummed about that. But not like I need more packaging to take up space. The charger included in the box is not OEM but it does work to charge the watch (it is the slower 1A 5V charger). The watch itself looks brand new. Can't tell that it had been used at all. I put it through its paces and it seems to hold a charge very well. I had actually also purchased the black version and the Watch 6 (both refreshed) to see which one I like best. The 6 came in OEM packaging and while I preferred the size of the watch 6, the battery life couldn't come close to the 5 Pro. I also preferred the brushed nickel look over the black version of the 5 Pro. I was worried because this model indicated it is the Latin America version, but it works just like the other 5 Pro.

The watch is huge and I have very small wrists so it has been an adjustment wearing something so bulky. The OEM band was too big for me and even though I made it work, the excess strap caused an awkward fit. I replaced the band with a thinner silicone band and it is much more comfortable now.

That said, the features that it offers are impressive. My favorites: body composition analysis, sleep tracking, integration with Samsung Health and my fitness apps such as GymRun & MyNetDiary. I also love being able to get messages and texts without having to pick up my phone. This watch is a key motivator in helping me achieve my fitness goals so for that aspect alone, worth the refreshed cost! I definitely won't hesitate to buy Amazon Refreshed for other items in the future, just know that there is a spectrum of what you'll get.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is a powerful smartwatch with Wear OS 4 operating system that turns it into an Android phone on your wrist. If you want to know its characteristics, I encourage you to search for them on the internet. Here I will mention information that I consider very important:

1) Since I bought this 5 Pro on Amazon Refurbished, its physical condition was not optimal. This unit came to me with a new strap and charger similar to the originals but they are Chinese copies. Its quality is acceptable. The smartwatch was purchased under the name "Refurbished - Excellent" but I consider that it should have been classified as "Refurbished - Acceptable" since the Titanium casing had several marks (scratches and nicks) quite visible (for this reason I should have rated the seller barely 3 star). However, its performance and battery life are quite good. With the use I give it, its battery lasts between 50 and 60 hours.

2) I almost returned the 5 Pro because I had serious pairing problems with my phone (a Redmi 11S). It paired on the first day and then randomly lost connection. To link it again, it was necessary to reset it to factory settings. I had to do a lot of research on the internet and I found the solution. For the love of humanity, I share it with you right here:

a) You must approve absolutely all permissions on your mobile for the Galaxy Wear and Samsung Health Apps by browsing Settings / Applications / Permissions. Among others, you must activate the Automatic Start in Background option.

b) Go to Battery Optimization settings and enable “Auto Start” for each Samsung Galaxy Watch related app.

c) Disable battery optimization for those same apps.

d) This is the most important step (the one that no one tells you about): Go to Settings > System App Settings > Security > Boost Speed ​​> Lock Apps > Select Galaxy Watch Plugin + Samsung Accessory Service (on my Redmi Note 11S it is on Settings / Apps / System app settings / Security / Speed ​​boost / Lock apps).

Only then did the 5 Pro stop disengaging and start working well. This procedure saved him from being returned to Amazon.

In conclusion: The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is worth it today (July 2024). If you buy it on Amazon Renovated, you should know that you will not receive a unit in perfect aesthetic condition (even if they indicate that its condition is Excellent) and you will get accessories of medium or low quality. The best smartwatches with Wear OS have a battery life of 2 or 3 days maximum. If you agree with these features, you can get an excellent smartwatch for an average cost (not as low as it should be).

If this watch was in original packaging, it could have passed for new. I found no nicks or scratches. Battery needed charging out of the box, but once it charged up was easy to set up and pair with my phone. It is a large watch but not too big, watch band works as it should. Screen is bright and easy to read, features and apps seem to perform well, haven't had a chance to work with all of them yet. After 36 hrs. of wearing it, I like it. will consider renewed products in future purchases.
The watch was overheating while it's charging, and after couple weeks it started to shuts off. The seller is a cheater, they received their product back over a month ago and a refund was never processed.I have been calling non-stop to amazon to complete my refund and no one is doing there job there, i asked for a supervisor and the supervisor is worse then the employees and hang up the phone on me.I asked for a supervisor in the US or someone higher then this disgruntled supervisor and he won't transfer the call.This is the worst experience you can have with any business.

Supervisor still refuse to refund me m Ii ney even after they've received the faulty watch for over a month. Non-stop calls the Amazon customer service. Still no refund
