Cute puzzle, give hours of fun!

My littles die for this puzzle. The animal shapes are super cute and a good size for small hands to grip. As with all Melissa and Doug products the craftsmanship was impeccable.

I will say the cons are the pieces can be a bit sensitive at times and will sound without provocation, but that's an easy fix, turn it off.

My child loves it. In half a day, she was able to figure out how to put together puzzles correctly. She is 17 months old. This is exactly what I was looking for for her age. The only cons that I noticed is that the animals always start making sounds when the child brings something to it. It could just be her hand or a wrong image of another animal. For example, if you bring a cat to a dog, the cat still barks. This can be confusing for a child who is just learning about animals. It would be nice if, in case of an error, there will be some other sound or something like "oops, it's not right, let's try again".

Fun and interactive puzzle for kids

Purchase this puzzle for my two year old. He absolutely loves this puzzle and can spend 30 minutes playing with it. Each animal makes noise as the puzzle is put into place. Noise feature can also be turned off in the back. Beautifully made!

Sounds aren't working

I didn't even mean to order one with noise but it only makes noise if you put your finger over the sensor and not every time and not every animal. We touched the horse and it made the sheep's sound. It makes no noise when we place the pieces where they belong. I would rather it just didn't make any noise as to not confuse my one year old learning animal sounds.

Better quality wooden puzzle than some of the others on the market, daughter really likes the animal pictures, but sounds are a bit tricky, sometimes it doesn’t work

Fascinating puzzle

This puzzle has real life animal sounds. I got it for a one year old which might be a little young...everything goes in the mouth. The dog puzzle piece is a little worn from chewing. This is a good hand eye coordination toy.

Didn’t work

Stopped working after the first time. I put the batteries in. Tested it, all worked great. Then turned it off to save the batteries obviously and not hear the animal sounds all the time lol and next day turn it on-doesn’t work. Batteries are fine and secured in place. I’m sad because that’s the whole reason I bought it.

I bought this for my 19 month old granddaughter because she loves animals, I love all Melissa and Doug toys because they are well made and priced right. I read some of the reviews on the puzzle before I bought it and I almost didn’t buy it because some of the reviews stated that the puzzle is “ Possessed “ and just goes off at random times, or sometimes the animals didn’t make the sound at all. Anyway since I have bought several items of theirs before for my grandchildren I went ahead and bought it, it arrived and worked great, then it didn’t. I called the number on the back of the puzzle and I have to say that their customer service is amazing, come to find out that each piece is light sensitive and if you are playing with it in a room that is a normal lit room then it works perfectly, my granddaughters bedroom at night is dark but has a nightlight so if the pieces weren’t in the puzzle and you went in and turned on the light the animals would make their sounds because the sensor on the puzzle piece is sensitive to light. We now have the puzzle out in the living room with most of her other toys and we haven’t had a problem since. When I spoke to the customer service representative he said that they are using this feedback to possibly have this information on the package. I am glad I bought this puzzle and called customer service before writing my review since I know reading reviews on products will sometimes sway someone’s purchase when all that is needed is a phone call to customer service, which I know takes time, but I would rather give a good review to a good product than a bad or mediocre review to a good product because I didn’t make the call. I definitely plan on buying more of these puzzles.
