The fabric itself is solid white (aside from the usual red stitching on one side) with no stains or blemishes. I've used quite a bit of it and the holes all seem to be evenly spaced and sized, and the edges are even and straight. It's been incredibly easy to use and my projects turn out beautifully every time.
It is pretty heavily starched, more so than what you'll find from DMC fabric. I found the easiest way to ease up the stiffness of it is to crinkle it between my hands or add a bit of steam. It'll also just work itself out over time while stitching. The starch can also be washed out completely, but I prefer some stiffness. The starch doesn't really impact the functionality of the fabric and it's easily dealt with.
