This guide excels by including a truly comprehensive package- preparation advice, including how to prepare your vehicle, checklist for each trip, how to save money along the way and the time needed to spend on each route. I've been gearing up for another road trip, and this book is excellent for stirring my imagination about when and where to go. I was surprised that one of the best things I appreciated about THE EPIC BUCKET LIST TRAVEL GUIDE is the Introduction that offers many tips for thoroughly preparing for safe travel (vehicle, money, navigation, etc) and for saving money along the travels. This Introduction will function as my to-do checklist before departing.

I have one bone to pick with the folks at Golden Sun Ray Adventures (author)... when traveling across Louisiana, it is well worth the extra time to drop down south to New Orleans instead of passing through Shreveport on the way to Texas! New Orleans is truly a uniquely different city than all our other major US cities. I'm sure many readers will quibble about which exact places are ideal to include on bucket list travels, but this one really is true... New Orleans instead of Shreveport is worth your time!!!

In summary, this is a well done travel guide that sparks the imagination and offers great tips for safe and economical travel for the entire family.

This book contains many car travel trips that most folks would never think of trying - and even after reading the book would still never try. And that is what makes the book interesting; in most cases one is decidedly getting off the beaten track and seeing parts of rarely traveled America. The highway 2 trip from west to east across the entire country and the north to south trip on highway 83 come to mind. To be sure some of the excursions are on highways that essentially don’t exist anymore, like highways 66 and 80 so I’m not sure of the benefits of those trips. And one really needs to check out the links provided on all the 15 trips to get a complete feeling of what each trip entails.

I do wish the author was a little more forthcoming in the text about what highways constituted the majority of the trip as in some cases it was not obvious. The east coast trip (New York to Key West) is one example. Still, all in all, an entertaining book and I enjoyed it.

I loved this book. It is unlike any travel book for road-trips I have run across. I really liked the Route 66 part having lived on Route 66 in Missouri and Kansas. There were still things the book should me despite having traveled its route all my life. I am in the Appalachian Mountains now and this part of the book was also really enjoyable to me. I found several parts of this trip I want to do in stricking distance from my home for daily road trips. I had made a similar trip on the southern route offered in the book and wish I would had this book when I did. I just can.t say enough good things about this book. It is so well written, researched, and presented. I highly recommend this book!

This was a great book for me as I have not traveled much but hoping to change that! I appreciate how the author organized the book, taking the reader on different road trips, some well-known and others not so much. The author gives everything needed to plan for each trip such as links to maps and out-of-the-way places, the best time of the year to go, roadside attractions, how many days to plan, and a bit of history. The first chapter was a trip along The Pacific Coast Highway- a trip I have wanted to take for 20 years! A great suggestion is to start this trip from the north and travel south so that you’ll be oceanside the whole way. What a great idea! This is something I would have never considered.
Then there was The Highway over the Sea… YIKES! This book was such a great resource of ideas for planning my next vacation. Love it.

The mom and lawyer in me has to applaud the author for starting out with a safety checklist and health and well being tips to go through before you start your epic road trip. Each trip was well described, including suggested amount of time, sidetrips, placest to see, eat, stay, etc. And... there are about a 100 pages of references with cyber links! Love it!
