First of all, my problems with the book. I have not made up my mind about
Intelligent Design or Evolution. To my mind, as I understand the subject as a
Layperson, either is possible.

Now onto what is good. It is a good Christian book which bears witness to what
Can happen when you accept God, and let Christ into your life.

According to Mr. Ziglar, and I paraphrase, God does not make junk, so please
Remove your inferiority complex. We have God-given potential and ability which we
Should utilize.

To take his argument further, the decline of moral standards in civilization, leads
To self-destructiveness, and self-loathing.

This is a brave book, speaking about the various evils we have become numb to,
Like child abuse, among other things. Brave, because, Try to say such things in
Contemporary life, and see how long you last in the world.

A good read, which I will probably re-read in a decade.

ZIG never lets me down

I love Mr. Ziglar and is life's work as a motivational speaker I purchased this book after getting the audio version from the library. I preferred the written version and the info he shared was practical and easy to apply if you need a guide to how things can get better and focused this is a Great read to start with

Typical Zig, guiding towards your best performance.

One word summary for the book- Performance.

If you’ve never read any Zig, then you probably haven’t ever been in Sales, in the South, or in any book Stores. Zig’s been motivating and inspiring folks for about 60 years, and this book is more classic Zig. His Southern Charm and ability to teach while telling amusing anecdotes is his real emblem. Although for his real charm and entertainment, don’t forget to check out a few of his YouTube presentations. Yes, Optimists are full of Passion and Zig definitely walked his talk.

We all allow our own inspirations to shine through us, and one of Zig’s inspiration was from reading Scripture. I’m not a religious person, and was able to skim over all his Bible referencing without it becoming too cumbersome. As Zig would probably have said- Why worry about the type of gravy on the potatoes, if the ham and chicken knock your socks off!

A few motivational Zesty Zigism’s that I liked:

To live your fullest life, increase the area that your Passion, Peak Performance and Purpose overlap.
A smile is still the single most powerful force of influence you have.
Many folks haven’t even hit their stride until they’ve lived forty years.
In the achieving of your goals, it’s not what others believe you can do; it’s what you believe you can do.
If you’re looking for more of his incredible sales approaches, read some of his earlier books (he’s got 170, I think!), like See You at the Top, or Secrets to Closing the Sale that were focused on Sales Strategies.

If you’re looking for an overview on how someone remained so Positive and Successful over 70 years, then this is the right book.

I was lucky enough to attend one of Zig’s seminars, and the man was fun to learn from. One of the best, an American Icon for sure.

But if you have to just read his material, pull up some Southern Iced Tea, a highlighter, and he’ll bring the smile and the put the wind in your hammock.

Sales & Succeeding in life is all about understanding people

I love Zig Ziglar cut to the chase way of getting to the heart of things. When negiotating to sell, we have to spend at least 2/3 of our energy thinking like a buyer. When negotiating to buy, we have to spend 2/3 of our time thinking like the seller. Get into the mind or shoes of the person whom we are doing business with and figure what they want. If they get what they want, they will give us what we want.

Love this audio CD. A must listen for anyone who wants to succeed in sales and life.

I have bought numerous copies of this one and given them to our children and their spouses. Zig has words to live my and motivation to keep us going even if it seems the world is against us. No matter how many times you listen to Zig you always get something new to apply to your life - very good to motivate and points to try to apply to your life.

This book goes into the principles of living a good and balanced life. It is well organized and the chapters can be read as stand alone and provide value. It is full of inspiration and very well written.

I bought this book hoping it would be similar to "see you at the top" . I understand that Zig is a very religious person, and I respect that, but this book was a little too in my face about Christianity. I didn't buy this book to be converted I bought it to be inspired. The first half is therefore alright but near the end I lost interest.
