save your money and get something legitimate. problems with these "use your phone to scan negatives" devices.
- apps (including Kodak's) are too old. the Rybozen app was last updated in 2020.
- apps cannot use the camera properly to focus on the slide from the included stand. the apps tend to default to the wide-angle lens with no capability to zoom in optically. some people with *older* phones (like the iphone 8) have reported some good results, but i have an iphone 13 pro and this contraption is useless.
- LED backlights are too weak
just avoid all of these types of products.

That said, the device itself is awesome, especially for the price! I'm going through boxes of old family pictures and there's envelopes upon envelopes upon envelopes filled with negatives, I can't wait to look through them and start archiving them for my family!
