About this item
???? ???????????? ???????? ???????????????????????? ????????????????????????????????????????!
A new steamy AGE GAP Bodyguard Irish Mafia STANDALONE
Eriu Quinn is off-limits.
Too young. Too innocent. And far too forbidden.
Her father is the head of the Irish Mob.
And I'm just her bodyguard tasked to keep her safe.
She's my job, but she's also a maddening temptation.
One I need to stay away from.
But I underestimate that feisty little spitfire.
She creeps under my skin.
Pushes all of my buttons.
Until I unravel...
I can’t resist the untouched Irish princess.
With every hungered look, with every illicit touch, I want her more.
Downright needing her, until the lines start to blur.
But I can't have her.
She has no idea who I truly am.
My past is as dark as it is dangerous.
And my enemies are coming.
If she’s mine,
they’ll come for her too.
When her life is threatened,
I have no choice but to save her.
Though saving her comes at a price.
Ruthless Savage is a standalone age gap mafia, bodyguard, grumpy/sunshine romance with a feisty heroine, and a possessive, touch her & I'll unalive you type of hero. It contains a HEA.

I'm not lying when I say how aggravated I am with this book. Some of the stuff in here pissed me off, lol. A virgin who's never touched or kissed anyone, including herself, ends up going to a sex party numerous times? I hated it. Then, the way the two talked to each other? Blah, I wasn't too fond of it. Sometimes, it seemed like it was written in another language and then translated to English. There were points in the book, namely the beginning that I did enjoy. I forced myself to finish and was glad that I did. It's not absolutely horrible, but it does need some work, lol. I liked Devlin on occasion. He was a decent MFC. The storyline could have been better, along with the conflict. Her friend Karen got on my last nerve, as well. So much about the whole virgin and all the dirty stuff going on just seemed unrealistic. It didn't match up for me.

Overall: 4.5 ⭐
Initial: Woooooo….. Ma’am… you were absolutely PUSHING it with my personal comfort zone for age gap and I think the ONLY reason this worked out okay for me, is because it’s Mafia and well, they get away with a LOT of things because Mafia. That’s why I can’t give it a full blown 5. The gap is bordering on what I call a canyon…
It was wonderful to finally see more about Dev and Eriu (we’ve met them in past books before, knew *something* was brewing there, but just hints).
Okay, so the book. Eriu is growing up before us on the pages between a past book she appeared in briefly and this one. Now 18 (almost 19) she’s still head over heels for Devlin, her sexy, tortured, broody, Irish Mafia bodyguard who’s 35 and been watching her for since she was 13. I had to really suspend my (personal) aversion to age gaps that border on age canyons. Again Mafia so they play by different rules.
Now, without giving away too much of the book, Eriu narrowly avoided an arranged marriage in the prior book she was in (Twisted Promises, Messina Fam, Bk 3) but her hapless father tries again which really sets everything in motion. He means well, daddy dearest, but he’s oblivious.
Steam, angst, will they/won’t they, touch her and die, try to touch her and I’ll break your fingers. Yum. It’s all there. I loved watching Devlin overcome his past trauma to fight for his girl, and Eriu never backing down from loving her man while really coming of age in her own skin.
Action, plot twists, I swear, Lilian Harris knows how to write Mafia/Crime/Thriller-y Dark Romances. And I LOVE them all. I can’t wait to see what the next Savage Kings Book holds for us! Because I know I can’t wait to read whatever she writes next!
Ruthless Savage is less a stand-alone and more a stand-along: while you can read it by itself, you really do miss the larger world Lillian has built with the past books for the Messina and Cavaleri series. There’s been a few sub-plots and arc that have reached throughout all of her books that, while do able, are best understood if you start back with the Messina family, Book 1 “Sinful Vows”
So, if you’re reading this review and HAVEN'T read the other books. Stop everything, go absolutely binge read the rest (bring tissues - she writes books that will break your heart before putting them back together!), and then finish up with Ruthless Savage.
Oh, and definitely swing by to let me know what you thought of the whole dang set!
Devlin McHale is a broody bodyguard with a tortured soul who has found his second chance away from his former life with the Quinn family. Still haunted by the ghosts of his past, the last thing he expects in the future is love.
Eriu Quinn is the temptation he shouldn't want. She is young and innocent, and though an Irish mob princess has big dreams of being a writer. Despite the hard exterior Devlin portrays, Eriu can't help falling for the man tasked with keeping her safe, but does that include her heart?
I enjoyed finally seeing Devlin and Eriu give into the simmering tension between them from the previous series. The banter, spice, and plot twists made this one a solid start to the Quinn family saga.
I couldn't stop reading once I started, and I finished it quickly. What a good read!
