 This gel dye was fantastic! A very nice rich black, and it DID NOT bleed into the white buttercream icing it touched FTW! (Even after spending the next 24 hours in the refrigerator!) The middle layer on the tiered cake was mascarpone, and even the cake was showing through that icing — exactly as you would expect — but the black icing did really well on that tier also.

I used this brand for the first time yesterday when I got my order. The color was pretty good, not extremely pigmented but after adding a few squirts it got to the shade I needed. I gave it four stars because I had to use enough that my frosting was thinner than it should be and I don't normally have that issue with Americolor or Colormill. I will use it again if I can't get the color I need in my preferred brands but it will probably not become my go to brand. Decent, not excellent.

Mixed some of this stuff into some cake batter and it was definitely blue. Worked great for our baby's gender reveal cake. A little goes a long way though, so be careful. Now I have most of a tube left...maybe we'll dye the dogs idk.

I've tried different brands and methods to get deep, rich colors in fondant and American buttercream. They mostly come out pastel, not the shade I want, or like I had to use most of the container with unsatisfactory results. This product made it effortless! I didn't have to use half the bottle to get a dark brown. All of the "hair" buttercream and the fondant nose and horns are colored with this. I'm going to try the red and a few others next!!!! 100% recommend it!!!!
